The Boathouse At Bracebridge enjoys a fantastic location in the heart of Sutton Park. Henry VIII had a hunting lodge here and the lakeside setting still provides one of the area’s most popular and sought after spots, not just for dining but for weddings and celebrations of all kinds. The food is modern British, with a choice between the a la carte, set lunch and dinner menus, and (mainly) fish specials. Seafood is a real speciality here with deliveries every day and the knowledgeable and friendly front-of-house staff will be happy to offer advice. The Boathouse seats 70 inside with wooden tables outside for al fresco dining during the summer months. Kababish

1 of 1
Longevity in the restaurant game is a sure indication that you are doing things right. So for Birmingham's Kababish Restaurants group with its branches in Sutton Coldfield (19 years old) and Moseley (25), it's no surprise to find a mission statement focused on customer service, quality food, value-for-money and hygiene featuring prominently in both venues. The menu has developed over the years but is still based around the cuisine of the Punjab. House specialities now include dishes like Muchlee Ka Tortah (fillets of hake marinated in tandoori herbs and garnished with baby aubergine) and Lobster Luzzutt (lobster tail, mushrooms, goat's cheese and red onions caramelised in butter, fresh coriander, jalapenos, spices and a touch of tamarind). There's also more of an emphasis on healthy eating and plenty of vegetarian choices. Both restaurants have a good selection of wines and both will be offering special offers throughout the year to celebrate their 20th and 25th anniversaries. ...more information

La Plancha Spanish Tapas & Cocktail Bar

1 of 1
This Moseley village Spanish restaurant and tapas bar beat off some strong city centre competition to pick up Metro's 2005 Newcomer Of The Year award. And the plaudits show no sign of drying up with the Independent recently choosing La Plancha as one of the UK's top 10 tapas bars. You can enjoy tapas here in the ground floor bar area or eat a little more formally in the restaurant upstairs. Either way the menu has plenty of tapas choices and is great for sharing and experimenting. Low-key Spanish music and decor set the tone nicely. ...more information
