An excellent restaurant and one of our favourites. Superb, imaginative and well presented dishes. Certainly not for those who like to see a mound of food on the plate, this is more about flavour, texture and an overall experience. Can never fault the service, a good wine selection and in terms of consistency this place beats any i have been to for getting everything right every time. Well worth a visit, and they do 3 courses before 7pm for £20 which is a bargain for this quality.

we had a great meal with friends on a cold Saturday night in December. the decor was fabulous, as was the food & we thought the canapes were a lovely touch. the menu was seasonal, unusual and a little bit different. Staff were helpful, informed and couldn't do enough for us. highly recommended

We dined at the Red Cat on Friday evening to celebrate my wifes birthday. The food, service and surroundings were all excellent and the food in particular was exceptional. However, the portions served for the prices charged were nothing short of dreadful. We were both served tiny portions, especially the main course, and to charge extra for vegetables when you're serving dishes at up to £25 is beyond a joke. I left with a distinct feeling of being mugged.

After hearing many good reports about The Red Cat, myself and friends visited on a sunday evening. Cant tell you much about the food as when the starters came my friend politely complained about it not being what he ordered. The waiter took it back to the kitchen and then reappeared saying the chef has asked you to leave - talk about arrogant and poor service!! He has obviously been watching Gordon Ramsay and thinks thats how he will get ahead in life!

went to the red cat cat after reading about the chef winning a young chef competition. this chef can cook. i love to try new flavours when dining out. the pea and marjoram risotto with the halibut is different but so fresh. bang! flavours explode in your mouth . really nice to see a place who can execute these dishes to perfection. i couldnt fault the red cat, service, atmosphere, food. all top notch! we will be back.

Fantastic local restaurant, visited on many occasions and cannot be faulted. Attentive service, fabulous food, what more can we say

Probably the best restaurant for miles. wonderful food, ambiance, service. Cant wait for our next visit. Duck egg with Scottish scallops a real winner!

We dined here on a Saturday and were amazed by the quality of the food and the attentive service. Imaginative menus at Lancashire prices, Favourites were the Goosnargh duck with duck pudding and the Valrhona chocolate marquise. Overall a memorable dining experience that is second to none. What made it even more special was this was a prize we won on sugarvine. Keep up the good work

me and my partner eat out every weekend and looked forward to our visit to the red cat, only to find there wasn't a starter on the menu to her liking, what food we had was excellent, but we felt it was very pretentious and over priced we wont return

I have to say the food here ranks among the best I have tasted anywhere. Have tried both the Lowry Manchester and Heathcotes Longridge in the past two weeks and the Red Cat beats them both hands down for quality food, service and value. Great restaurant.
