With out doubt bruge restaurant in jesmond in newcastle is one of the best value and fantastic little places to eat. We live in Washington about 10miles from this restaurant and we have eat at bruges every 3 weeks it is so so good , When ever we have friends come and visit this is with out doubt our favourite places to take them for food. The restaurant has a great cosy feel but also the buzz of a great place to be , with excellent waiting staff and a great chef it is with out doubt the best value for money for a great meal and great night out . We had dinner at Sky Apple and had to go back the next day for lunch just to check we didn't just hit good luck!! It was as it was the night before - fabulous! The best burger (veggie or otherwise) I have ever had! If I lived in Newcastle, I would be there as often as I could!!
Nando's, Newcastle City Centre

I love Nando's, I always check to see if there is a Nando's near by when I stay away on business. You can't beat the distinctive taste of flame grilled chicken with the extra hot sauce poured all over it. Try it and see for yourself.

Gourmet Spot, Durham

Friday night in Gourmet spot was fantastic, all six of us had the best time ever. The food , the service and the whole night was something special. One minor point that you might like feed back on though is that you could do with a few extra staff, apart from that I couldn't find fault. The chef speaking to each table was a nice touch as was the pre-order idea so that everything was prepared for our arrival. Will definitely recommend.

Great restaurant! My boyfriend and I dined there on April 27th 2008 for the first time. After reading the other reviews, we thought to give it a try; and it was absolutely worth it. As we were walking into the restaurant, a waiter greeted us and let us to our table. After approx. 2 mins, our drinks were ordered and another waiter came to our table to announce the daily specials (Starters & Main courses). We ordered two starters (bruschetta and bread with liver pate) and Salmone Pasta & Canneloni as our main courses. Both starters were very delicious and good portions (we were unable to finish the main courses). The Salmone Pasta was very nice; creamy, brilliant taste, not too fishy. Although the decor was quite plain, it has become one of my favourite Italian restaurants in Newcastle. Godfather; always again at anytime.

First class food, lively atmosphere, and very friendly staff and management. Fajitas arrive sizzling with an array of dips and flour tortillas, the nachos were that high stacked on the plate we had trouble eating them all. The house wine was served chilled in an ice bucket and was reasonably priced, highly recommended.
