went out shopping in nuneaton. as we do every Wednesday for the market.we noticed a blackboard out side a pub called bilberries,it was advertising homecooked food.so we thought we would give it a try i had the roast beef and Yorkshire pudding my wife had the steak in ale pie, each was only £4.95.when it arrived after 25mins we could not believe the size of the plate and the amount food on it.the beef was proper tender and not tough like some places, the steak was in a delicious gravy with homemade short crust pastry both came with crispy roast potatoes creamy mash potato baby new potatoes and fresh veg even the Yorkshire pud was homemade as well as the gravy the plates and the food was piping hot.we was well impressed and the service was second to non.we have been coming to nuneaton for many years and we never new a place like this existed there,so we now know where to go to eat when we go shopping in nuneaton, bilberries,oh and the beer prices are pretty cheap as well.we asked to speak to the manager before we left.he then appeared from what looked like the kitchen dressed in chefs whites,he told us immediatley that he was the owner not a manager,we then thanked him for the great service and food and told him his toilets were also spotless.he told us he only sent food out of the kitchen he would eat himself.anyhow we have been back there now every Wednesday and will continue to do so.as long as the food stays the same.ps if the owner happens to look at this write up well done mate, were the ones who come in with the old lady in the wheelchair
