Washbourne Court is the only riverside hotel high in the Cotswolds. This splendid 17th-century hotel, once an Eton cramming school, stands in four acres of beautiful grounds alongside the River Eye in the centre of Lower Slaughter. It's an inspired mix of exciting contemporary design and handsome historic features with traditional beamed ceilings, stone mullioned windows and the most magnificent fireplace in the bar. In the luxuriously relaxing Scholars Lounge, guests can graze the delicious daily and seasonally changing bar menu or lounge over a latte, a pot of tea or something a little stronger. During the summer, the Riverside Terrace is a truly charming riverside setting whilst in the winter months guests can relax in front of the real log fires.

Franco is a great believer in local produce and using his contacts gained over the years, Franco sources only the best local meat, fish and vegetables available in the South West, to create dishes like the delicious Seared King Scallops, Roasted Butternut Squash Puree, Red Wine Shallot, Confit Chicken Wings and roasted Chicken Jus or Local Lighthorn Lamb Loin Fillet, Liquorice and Shallot Confit, Roasted Lamb sweetbreads, Hot Pot Potatoes, Roasted Lamb Juices and Baby Celery Leaves.
