The 39 Steps is located right in the heart of idyllic Styal village, three miles outside of Wilmslow. Under new ownership since September 2006, it's now run by Duncan Poyser (ex-Obsidian) and Jon Rebecchi (ex-Bridge Hotel, Prestbury) who first met when they worked together at the Alderley Edge Hotel. Jon handles front-of-house with Duncan running the kitchen brigade and they are offering a stylish Modern British fine dining experience spiced up with just a hint of the Med. The menu is seasonal and the Table D' Hote changes daily. An 80-bin wine list ably matches menus that are built around local produce. The 39 Steps is Cheshire Life Restaurant of the Year 2007-2008 and also now offers an outside catering service. The Restaurant is now also open on Monday. ...more information

Andalucia on Warrington’s Bridge Street is a Mediterranean restaurant serving mainly Lebanese and Moroccan food. It opened in September 2006 and the chef here used to cook at a 6-star hotel in Dubai. The a la carte choice is extensive and the best way to explore it is by sharing an array of small dishes (mezza) around the table. Not only do you get to sample a selection of relatively unfamiliar dishes; it also reflects the way the Lebanese themselves eat, eschewing the traditional three-course meal in favour of a more convivial ‘sharing’ approach.
