My partner and I went to Dilli last Friday night and we were blown away by the quality of the food. Can honestly say I had the best curry here in Manchester! (I had the Murgh Tikka Lababdar and the Veggie Samosa to start) The starters were delicious as well and we were too full for pudding.
The service was good, and the food was prepared quickly and well presented. Only negative would be that the atmosphere was a bit lacking - there was a party going on upstairs and the noise travelled unfortunately well!
Would highly recommend this restaurant though and will be back often!

We went last night, the restaurant was empty at 7 but got a little bit busier later. The starters were excellent, really tasty. The main course was disappointing, the lamb was bland and the chicken wasn't just breast meat and didn't look very appetising. The naan breads are small so order double. Overall it was expensive for the small portions and we won't be going back again.

The Dilli is quite simply superb.Having spoke to the manager after another 1st rate meal he explained that each dish is cooked individually with its own unique combination of spices and not from a base mix.The flavours are so intense because the meat is marinaded well in advance and left to infuse the full flavour. The menu is excellent value considering the level of cuisine. You will not be disappointed with the Dilli and will no doubt return

Superior Indian food and good service on a quiet weekday evening. The decor is a bit worn and the lights a bit bright, and Dilli was smaller than I had expected, so this won't be a posh night out, just good eating. Expect about £55 for two including drinks and service.

22 of us attended Dilli last night 7pm as a works curry night. I had booked approx' 3 weeks in advance and as requested by Dilli Management, I emailed our food order 3 days earlier.
We started arriving between 6.50 - 7.15pm and we're seated upstairs and started with our drinks. Poppadoms were served at 7.20pm and needed a microscope to see the chutney trays (never seen any smaller). At 7.30pm told the waitress to begin bringing our Starter's - then we waited, waited and waited. Made a complaint to the management who stated that for a large party it is hard to be on time and that they should be here shortly. I replied that I had emailed our order 3 days prior so there should be no excuse. The starters arrived in dribs and drabs, first one at 7.50pm and last one at 8.15pm (some of the party had eaten the starters before starters had even arrived for the others). Again complained to management and told them our Main Course order should be better serviced. AGAIN, we we're kept waiting and had to complain before the Main Course arrived in similar fashion to the Starters. By this time, we just wanted to get it all finished with and leave.
Ate the food and straight away asked for the bill; very amazed, DISAPPOINTED and ANGRY to discover that a 10% Service Charge is already added to the bill. I can't believe the Management had the cheek to add the service charge.
What SERVICE??? - for us, it was non-existent. the food wasn't all what it was thought out to be and the portions we're very small. Went for drink and after an hour and a half, most of us we're hungry again.
I think the previous reviews on here are from small number of attendees (2-5). The restaurant was not able to provide sufficient service for a party of 22; even when they had asked for the food order in advance WHY??? what was the point. Due to our large number, other eaters attending the restaurant also suffered.
I'm sorry, but I will stick to Akbar's - the food is large in proportion, price alot cheaper and service second to none when compared to Dilli's.
Regards
A disappointed customer

Having read the previous reviews, should have been prewarned regarding service, was a not so busy early week, My large plate of mussels was delicious, but can"t be tackled with knife and fork,(fingers job) in this class of restaurant, should not have to ask for finger bowl and extra napkin, My partner made a special request for extra chilli"s (main Course) My dish had the extra chilli"s Her dish had none and was cold and bland. Will not return.

Michelin Standard ! Not in a million years!
Sorry but this restaurant does not deserve a Michelin star, the service was slow and poor, the restaurant its self is tired and dirty and the toilets where dirty. The quality of meat was the only thing that stood out. The dishes where not flavourless but certainly are not to a Michelin standard.
Only one special request was made and it was that one of the dishes be made very hot. The dish came and can only be described as mild. They had made a mistake and made a different lobster dish very hot. This resulted in 2 people out of 6 not enjoying there meal.
I have had the pleasure of visiting 2 other Michelin restaurants over the last few years and Dilli is a joke to the world standard.

We visited Dillis recently and it was so poor we are lost for words to describe the experience. This restaurant was supposed to be Michelin starred and advertises as such but I cannot believe it can still hold this accolade.
With Michelin restaurants one expects good service good food and quality and Dillis did not live up to any of these.
The service was terrible, we were served with three chicken dishes and we asked which dish was which and the waitress could not tell us.
The plates were cold the food was cold.
It was such a disappointment.
Not what you expect for a restaurant that was supposed to have the Michelin accolade

good food, good location, service very very poor, will prefer take away next time, don't know is he the boss or head chef (mr rabi) but very arrogant, he doesnt even know how to talk to customers, please improve the service standards and if any customer complain at least listen to them what they want rather then proving them wrong

outstanding food - the best I have had, the service is not a patch on the food, can get really crowded at weekend no room for the beer.
