Fantastic meals for Veggie and Carnivore, The service was great, making you more than very welcome. My wife's veggie Rissoto was gorgeous, followed by the sticky toffee pudding; mine was a proper suet Pudding, chips and peas, that there was too much of and the mussel starter was wow! I would not hesitate to recommend the Pub and Restaurant and we are looking forward to dining and being with them again.

On a recent visit to the Lake District we came across the Church House Inn Torver; What a chance find it turned out to be. I am reluctant to tell too many people about it in case the next time we wont get booked in! The atmosphere in the bar was warm, friendly & inviting; there was a good selection of both national & local ales. The Bedroom was very comfortable & reasonable priced. The highlight was the food: A fantastic menu & without doubt we have never had a better meal anywhere. The only down point is that we live over 90 minutes away, however, we will be back soon. The Chef/Proprietor is a modest man who has cooked for the rich & famous; highly recommended.

My partner and I were recommended to try a meal here and went on Sunday 14th Jan 2007......IT WAS EXCELLENT...will definitely return.

Just been taken over by new management, Mike and Mandy. Mike is a superb chef with all food freshly prepared with excellent quality ingredients, and on a par with any of the best restaurants, so book for meals now as demand is very high.

Very friendly pub with a nice selection of cast ales (landlord, blacksheep and Jennings Cumberland) the food was basic but well priced and good. had a great night.
