Excellent! We had a 3 course meal, which was delicious. I'd recommend the polenta cake especially :-)

My family and I visited during the day after looking around Dove Cottage and the Wordsworth Museum, it is ideally located just on the car park at Town End. A very interesting building with unique hand painted mural's along the walls, high beamed ceilings and a warm Mediterranean decor. It offered an inviting retreat from all the rain. Delicious home made cakes including banana and walnut cake and gigantic fruit scones. Staff were happy to help and friendly despite the terrible weather!

This is my favourite place to eat when visiting the Ambleside/Grasmere area. The food is delicious, generous portions and good value for money. The staff are attentive and really friendly. The menu offers a wide selection to suit all tastes including pizza and pastas to please everybody and then dishes such as Tuscan chicken (my boyfriends favourite) and yummy mushroom and red pepper risotto. My advice is to book in peak season because they can get very busy especially at weekends. Their garlic bread is also really good, especially with cheese and is served on a pizza base- very authentic Italian! Go there! They also have masses of parking so if you are travelling from outside Grasmere it takes the headache out of finding a parking space.

I have had pizzas to takeaway on 2 occasions from here (one through circumstance), and the reason we came back the second time was because they were so good the first time. however, tonight they had clearly been made by someone else. the pizzas were ok, but not worth the drive. i hope to go there again and be suprised. it seems very unfair to prepare the same pizzas in a completely different way, its what you build your reputation on.
