Set within the fabulous Abode Hotel overlooking Cathedral Yard, Michael Caines Café Bar provides affordable quality - from simple coffee, teas and light bites, through to modern international dishes made using the very best local produce. There is a buzzy al fresco area over looking the Cathedral where you can take in the atmosphere of this historic city and in the evening the mood changes to provide one of the coolest bars in Exeter with live music and speciality nights. During the day the MC Boutique provides outstanding deli produce and takeaway gourmet sandwiches and lunches. The MC empire also includes an annexed Tavern which successfully marries a traditional inn and real ales with modern cooking and service.

Oliva is a beautiful Mediterranean restaurant located in the pretty port of Topsham, just outside Exeter city centre. It’s family run by the Golders with head chef Tim having returned from working in great kitchens in Spain to bring a slice of the Med to Topsham. Oliva was winner of Devon Life Restaurant of The Year 2007 for good reason as Tim uses the best local produce for the base of the seafood, paellas and tapas dishes. The tapas are done properly here with authentic recipes and presentation; take for example the Pan fried rabbit in a sherry cream sauce or Gambas con ajo y chorizo. The restaurant itself is bright and bold with a large conservatory dining room and an outside garden and terrace suntrap. Tuesdays see Paella night and Thursdays Tapas night.
