Awful place, have never experienced a worse manager/owner. Wouldn't go back if you paid me.

Friend and I live about 5 miles from this pub, but consider it our local, as there's nothing to beat or even equal it within that radius. This is an unspoilt, traditional tavern, with an excellent range of casked real ales - mainly but not exclusively Woodfordes, plus a good selection of simple but very tasty pub meals at very reasonable prices. Landlord and all his staff are very friendly and helpful. In winter, make sure you get a seat close to the wonderful log fire they keep going whenever the temperatur drops. In summer, there's an outside courtyard at the rear. To sum up - there's abolutely no reason not to go there if you're looking for a 'proper' pub.
