C Fresh Fish & Chips is an award-winning restaurant and takeaway in Blackpool's Foxhall Square with views out over the Irish Sea. The restaurant has a modern, bright and airy feel with large windows and it can seat up to 90 inside and 10 outside. It was refurbished in 2007 and they have also had a fantastic new cooking range installed. As you would expect, all the usual fish choices feature but they also offer burgers, grills, baked potatoes and main courses like lasagne and chilli. It is also open for breakfast. Fish-wise they support sustainability and use the best Norwegian haddock. C Fresh is licensed and sells beer and wine as well as real coffee. It recently received a five star Seafish Fish Fryers Award. Opening hours are from 8.30am until late night on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and from 11.30am until about 8pm other days.

Kays Knott End Chippy is situated just off the Esplanade in Knott End and as the address suggests enjoys views out over the Wyre estuary. It was taken over by the Kay family in July 2009 and new owner Michael Kay only uses fresh fish cooked to order using the family's secret batter recipe. There is a takeaway counter and a cosy restaurant area that seats 14 and as well as cod, haddock, hake and plaice there is a choice of scampi, pies, steak puddings, sausages, burgers and chicken nuggets. Kays Knott End Chippy is open every day except Sunday for lunch and dinner

Pisces Fish & Chip Restaurant has been open since 1997. This modern and vibrant venue prides itself on its chunky fish and quality batter. Diners travel to Fleetwood from far and wide to eat here and one of the reasons is that it's great value - haddock chips peas, bread and butter & a pot of tea is just £5.99. Seniors is owned and run by a family of Fleetwood fish merchants. It's got all the facilities you would expect from the Northwest winner of the Seafish Authority Fish & Chip Shop of the Year award and an impressive selection of more than 13 fish on offer ranging from succulent cod to melt-in-the-mouth butterfish, delicate lemon sole and exotic angelfish as well as their signature John Dory. The colourful and bright restaurant area is fully licensed with aircon and disabled facilities. Seniors now has sister restaurants in both Thornton and Lytham.

Building on the success of Seniors in Normoss (a former North West Chippy of the Year), Fleetwwod fish merchants the Horabin family opened this purpose-built restaurant and takeaway in Thornton. Both venues offer more than 13 different varieties of fish on the menu, ranging from succulent cod to melt-in-the-mouth butterfish, delicate lemon sole and exotic angelfish as well as their signature John Dory. There are also non-fish and vegetarian options on the menu. The restaurant has coach-parking facilities, full disabled access and can seat up to 55 customers. Seniors has also opened a new Lytham venue.

Seniors opened its newest fish & chip restaurant right in the centre of Lytham in July 2009, the third Fylde location after the original Normoss restaurant and their purpose-built Thornton outlet. Seniors is owned and run by a family of Fleetwood fish merchants and offers more than 13 different varieties of fish on the menu, ranging from succulent cod to melt-in-the-mouth butterfish, delicate lemon sole and exotic angelfish as well as their signature John Dory. There's seating for up to 46 diners as well as a takeaway counter and Seniors is open seven days a week from 11.30am until 8.30pm.

The Cottage may be a little off the beaten track but that hasn't stopped a host of famous faces making a bee-line for this famous Blackpool fish and chip shop over the years. Originally built as a farmhouse, the building dates back to 1856 and has been a fish and chip shop since 1940. Now under new management, you can eat in at the recently refurbished 54-seat licensed restaurant or take away. Private parties and coach parties are welcome.

The Haven Fish Restaurant on Alexandria Drive in St Annes has been run by John Burrows since 2007. It's a traditional fish & chip shop with a takeaway counter to the front and an attractive 24-cover dining room to the rear. Unlike a growing number of fish & chip shops, the chips used are peeled and prepared on the premises, not bought-in, and you can pick up fish & chips, peas, bread & butter and a cup of tea here for just £5.50. There is also a loyalty card - eat 10 times and get the 11th meal free - and a special deal for senior citizens. The Haven is open Tuesday to Saturday from 11.30am-2pm and 4.30pm-7.30pm.

Whelans got the nod from no less than Rick Stein in his book Seafood Lovers' Guide. And none other than Gordon Ramsay celebrated his birthday here -- so you can expect fish and chips of the highest quality at what has become a Lytham institution. Eat in at the newly refurbished licensed restaurant on two floors or take away from the counter. A good wine selection too.
