I go to Heathcote's Longridge fairly regularly, and love it, and then I heard there was this, I thought, kind of stuffy, Michelin starred place down the road. which we thought we should try, sometime. So we did and realised you shouldn't make judgments before you try things. It was a superb eating experience, where I enjoyed a luxurious eating experience. Gentle ,quietly professional service and wonderful food. Astonishing place.

Had a wonderful night at Northcote during the Obsession Festival. The appropriately named Tom Kitchin was at the stove. Fantastic food and great company on our table. Matthew Fort of Great British Menu fame held a witty court. Proud to have this esteemed event in the Red Rose county!

I have to say Northcote is absolutely wonderful. The food was fabulous and the staff were very attentive and efficient. The grounds are beautiful and extremely picturesque, well worth a walk around prior to eating! I would definitely recommend it to others.

Had a gourmet overnight stay here recently. From the minute we arrived everything was just perfect. The room was great with a good attention to detail - all those little things that make you go Ooohh! The 5 course meal was amazing, from the champagne and canapes to begin to the coffee & petite fours to end in front of a real fire. We splashed out on the wine package which consisted of 4 glasses to compliment each course - not cheap at £37.50 a head but they were stunning and well worth the extra indulgence!!! I'm saving up for my return.

A perfect (long) lunch venue, outstanding value for the quality, flavour and presentation of the food you are served.
Unlike other restaurants their 'set' lunch menu food quality is not compromised despite being at a cost of less than you can pay in some pubs.
Relaxed atmosphere, attentive service, real log fires, just perfect.

Cannot fault the food, it was perfect, and imaginatively presented to boot. Service was impeccable but would prefer a more lively ambience - can get stuffy at times.

We held our Wedding Reception here in May 2006 and I really cannot sing highly enough of it. The entire day was perfect, the staff were faultless and made us feel like royalty. The food was to die for and we are still receiving compliments 12 months on about the pink champagne!

Thank you Northcote for a truly memorable day.

I've been meaning to write a review for this for a long time, but never found the time. This is a brilliant restaurant. The food is so fresh and creative and want you ask for more. I has duck for starters and pork for main course. DELICIOUS!!. I think most of the ingredients are locally produced. It is quite a novelle cuisine kind of restaurant, you only get small portions. But would definitely recommend this to anyone. The food is of very high standard. Its quite pricy, but why not! its worth every penny.

Absolutely divine food at a price, but you do get superb quality and it is well worth it. Excellent wine list. Service does not do justice to the food and can be on the slow side.

Wonderful food. One of the best restaurants in England. The ambience is a little formal and hushed with an older clientele. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for in life usually

Tantalising food, great to hear the kitchen at work! Young South African waiter a great asset! very fine wine. Nigel most certainly deserved the lifetime achievement award. congrats!!!!!!!!

I recently enjoyed a wonderful meal at Northcote. Living in Lytham I find there is nowhere truly outstanding nearby and always travel for that really special occasion. The food was exceptional as we went for the 5-course gourmet menu. I followed the restaurants half-bottle recommendations with each course, which matched perfectly. Beware though as this can be expensive. The service was excellent on the whole but was slightly let down by some younger staff not knowing what the food was they were serving. One of my favourite things about the Manor is sitting by the fire after dinner in the lounge quaffing large glasses of port! I'd also recommend staying the night in one of their 4 poster bedrooms.

Superb modern British cuisine with a Northern twist. Excellent wine list but the mark-ups put too many bottles firmly in the realm of the expense account holder.

Wonderful food from a Michelin starred restaurant. Who says it's grim up north?
