Main courses we had were 'Zalzala Chicken' and 'Tropical Birani' - both were fantastic, subtly spiced and full of flavour. We first visited this restaurant in August 2009, and now again on our annual golfing visit to Lytham. A meal at the Red Fort Moghul is an absolute MUST!!!

The Redfort is more than just an Indian Restaurant - it is an experience. Having visited this venue for many years, I can honestly say that the food is amazing. The blend of spices, each dish representing a cultural experience - from the delicate infusion, right up to the Naga infused lamb dishes to titilate the palete, with just the right amount of heat, and then the delcate flavour of the Korma or tandoori dish for those of us who prefer something less dramatic. The staff are amazing as well, ever ready to suggest a dish to suit the diner, each member of staff having knowledge of each dish on the menu, to take you through the dining experience and leave you in no doubt at all as to where your taste buds rest. You will return again and again, if only to work through the amazing menu, each dish offering a different experience. Relax in the beautiful surroundings that this restaurant offers, so different to the usual "indian" experience. When they say it is the essence of contemporary Eastern Spice they really mean it - because it really is!

Whenever we try to decide where to go out to eat, we always wonder "shall we try here, shall we try there". But we usually decide "let's go to The Red Fort". The Red Fort never fails to satisfy.

If you're a fan of Indian food, you may well have your favourite restaurant and probably your favourite dish that you always have. The Red Fort is our favourite and we always get great friendly service and excellent food. The restaurant is clean, modern and stylish.

They have a huge menu with many different dishes that you will not see on other menus. They even offer you a small complimentary taster dish of any menu item - so if you're thinking of trying something different to your normal dish, you can try it for free.

The Early Bird offer is great value for money - Papadoms with chutneys and ANY main course with rice or naan, for £8.95 before Monday to Thursday 5pm to 7pm.

Last night we went for the Early Bird and had the papadoms to start followed by a lamb Pathia and a lamb Naga. The lamb is always melt in your mouth tender, unlike some places where I have been where it can be tough and chewy. We also had an Aloo Gobi (cauliflower and potatoes) and a Mator Paneer (Peas and indian cheese) as side dishes. The Early Bird dishes are not smaller than the full price meals, and we still managed to eat the lot!

No doubt, next time we decide to eat out again, we will face the same tough decision - where else to go other than The Red Fort.

We have been eating at Red Fort since it opened over 20 yrs ago. The new decor and lighting have really set the Red Fort apart from other Indian restaurants in the area. Food is consistently good and the menu is varied . Ahad and all his staff look after us very well and the service/food to a very high standard. Visitors to Lytham should not miss eating at Red Fort.

Wonderful food and excellent service. Each meal made to order. I have special dietary needs and nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended.

Curry house with a difference. Modern, stylish decor. Very good service without being intrusive. Different menu giving both the familiar and a range of less well known dishes. Highly recommended. Definitely worth a visit.

What a wonderful dining experience! The newly refurbished restaurant is a beautiful soft lighting setting, which makes for a romantic meal for a couple like us or just as lovely for a family party/occasion. The food is to die for, we have never eaten such authentic dishes in the UK and we vote this the no 1 Indian Restaurant in England! My favourites are Pineapple Rice and Lamb Rajshahi highly recommend both of them. The manager and staff alike are extremely attentive and the waiting staff outstanding. The Sunday Banquet is unbelievable value, served all day long and includes a Kulfi or Coffee for dessert. Please try this restaurant its wonderful.

Sandra & I have been regulars at the Red Fort ever since it opened.
The food is always excellent and the service first-class and very friendly.
Ahad, the Manager, will always make time for a chat and a joke with us,and encourages the rest of the staff to do the same.
Over the years we have obviously tried several different dishes and have never had cause for complaint. The standard of the food has always been 'spot on'.
Following recent refurbishment the restaurant now has a more intimate 'warm' appearance thanks to some clever, modern lighting.
The Red Fort is, in our opinion, the best Indian restaurant in the area and we can't praise Ahad and his team enough for their efforts.
The very fact we are there every week (and occasionally twice a week) is surely recommendation enough for anyone.
Keep up the good work !

The Red Fort is a firm favourite of ours and we have just been for another first class supper. The restaurant has now had a facelift and it looks very appealing and contemporary. We were not looking for a lot to eat but enjoyed a wonderful meal of mushroom puri, salmon tikka, vegetable jayanti, onion rice and one of their to die for garlic naans. Ahad and his team are always hugely attentive and welcoming. The flavours of the various dishes were wonderful, the cooking light and the presentation very attractive. We were even offered a complementary starter - a delicious small stuffed aubergine. I find this restaurant offers fabulous value for money. It provides first class take-aways too. Highly recommended.

We have been visiting the Red Fort for many years on a regular basis (sometimes every week). We have always found the food to be excellent, never had a poor meal or any cause for complaint, this also applies to the takeaway.

The staff are always welcoming and provide really good friendly and professional service, a combination that is not easy to achieve.

In our opinion this is the best Indian Restaurant in the Fylde area, and probably beyond..

We regularly eat at the Red Fort and it continues to be consistently
excellent and we are never disappointed. Ahad and his team provide an excellent service and the food takes some beating!

Top quality ruby house with very attentive service. A good place to eat in peace without the plonkers of lytham larging it about the place.

Recommended by Liz (12th September 2009)

We ate here last Sunday and felt I had to comment on the excellent food. I had a chicken tikka balti and have to say it was the best I have ever had, and I've eaten a few!! I did feel it was a little on the expensive side though, we had the sunday meal deal costing £9.95 each but by the time we had added naan breads, popadums and drinks etc we spent over £45 for 2 adults and 2 small children. We will definitely eat there again but maybe just get a takeaway in future and eat in on special occasions.

We have been to the Red Fort several times and each time has been great, you cannot fault the food, service or the decor, we will definitely keep going back

Recommended by Div (30th March 2007)

The food is excellent, but my favourite aspect of this place is the fact that the menu has not only a good selection of 'standard' dishes (jalfrezi, rogan josh etc) but the 'red fort uniques' provide many different options, most, if not all are great.

Recommended by Andy (18th August 2006)

My wife and I are regulars to this establishment and live in Lytham. We went last night and they have refurbished it to a very high and modern standard. The food has also had a refresh, but with all the old favourites so you can not fail to find something you like!! If it is not too busy, Aahad is open to going off the menu with a variation on a meal of your own choice. We are total fans of this recently improved Lytham landmark eatery. Well done guys keep it up!! Andy & Helen

After a recommendation we enjoyed a great meal in the Red Fort. The food was great and the place looked good, apparently they've just had a refurb.

My fiancée and I live in lytham and frequently visit the Redfort on a regular basis (monthly). The food and service are really very hard to surpass! The waiters are even willing to experiment by going off the menu if you like. Although it is walking distance from where we live we would definitely drive to gain such an experience. Well done Danni and Aahad!! Keep it up guys!! Andy and Helen

This really is a great eating experience, the food very well cooked and nothing is to much trouble. We are now hooked and are regulars - the takeaways are equally as good and don't miss the Sunday buffet at just £8.95 per head.

Ordered a take-away on a very busy Saturday night. The service was excellent and the food was fantastic. This restaurant is getting better and better. I highly recommend it.

Delicious meal, excellent service and spotless surroundings. Cannot fault this restaurant at all.

This was my second visit to Lytham's new indian restaurant, and it certainly won't be my last. The place looks good, the service was very attentive, as you now expect from Indian waiters, and the food was delicious. I had chicken Jalfrezi which was done just right, not too sloppy, not too dry. The place is going to do very well and is long overdue on the Lytham dining scene.
