First time I've been to this cafe and I won't be going again !! Ordered a jacket potato and tuna and by god it smelt so off !!!! I had to send it back .. Didn't bother ordering anything else and it just looked like Aload of greasy fried cheap food !! The woman's finger nails who served me put me off aswell !! Came out stinking of cheap oil aswell !!! What a shame because Newton hall it's self is a nice little place but the cafe just brings it down !! Id be getting a new owner sharpish If I was them!! THANKGOD most of there customers are OAPs and are used to crap food !

Can't understand the woman complaining about Sir Drakes she must be fussy. The food is always good and fresh and the staff are excellent. The service is great. So great food and great staff.

Awful awful place !!!!! Staying at the Newton hall caravan park and tried the cafe on site on a Sunday afternoon.. First of all .. The young girl who serves the carvery is so rude!!! Face like a sore bottom! And her attitude is appalling! I politely asked for some more milk for my coffee and she practically snatched the coffee out of my hand and poured the milk in! Second me and my husband both ordered a carvery , the beef was chewy and very fatty and the slices looked like bloody doorstops!! Try chewing that with false teeth! When we had finished the mains we opted to have a egg custard .. It was quite nice abit thick though.. There is also a very loud woman in the back , you don't see her much but she has a lot to say about the customers which I thought was very rude and not professional in the slightest !! It's very cheap but then again you get what you pay for . Won't be returning .

Delicious hot beef barmcake and the homemade custard was the best I have ever tasted.

Had Sunday carvery, excellent food, all freshly cooked, the beef just melted in your mouth. All the soups are home made and the majority of the cakes are home made also. The staff gave first class service and nothing was too much trouble. Very welcoming and lovely atmosphere. Recommend.
