The Yew Tree Inn is a beautiful country pub set in the quiet lanes of the remote moorland parish of Anglezarke, to the east of Chorley. It’s close by Rivington Reservoir and is a popular spot for walkers. The pub dates back to 1871 and the stone flags, oak beams and open fireplaces provide loads of character. New owners took over in February 2012 and a sympathetic refurb has created a modern feel whilst retaining all the original features. It’s very much a family affair with two brothers handling the front-of-house and a kitchen team turning out classic British cuisine based on locally sourced produce. The bar serves cask ales and food is served from 12 noon to 9.30pm every day.

Call 01257 480 344 Available on Sunday Place is great but unfortunately, we had to wash all our clothes after visiting. The problem is that the kitchen is open plan and all cooking smells permeate the restaurant. Mike We went to the yew tree in January to celebrate my mothers 50th birthday and have to say we will defiantly be back. The staff are extremely helpful and will always go that extra mile to ensure your evening is special. I opted for fillet steak which I asked asked for medium rare and that's exactly how it came. I must say as well, the veg of the day and fluffy hand cut chips complimented it very well. My mother had the fillet of sea bass which see said was to die for, I was surprised because see is usually very fussy with way she eats. We finished our puddings and was directed into a reserved area of the lounge next to the roaring log fire. We really enjoyed our evening and and got a big thank you when will left. We will definitely be back and will recommend to any friend or family member. Loves Food Recently enjoyed a fantastic meal at the Yew Tree and also the dulcet tones of a Michael Buble tribute singer. The food and service was so good, I decided to have lunch there as well the day after! It's a must visit if your are in the area. Kevin Hesketh - One Cost Ltd We have been going to the Yew Tree for special occasions for over 36 years and we have never been disappointed. Wedding anniversary coming up and we will be there! Chris Six of us dined at the Yew Tree last night, on our first ever visit, and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. This attractive old inn is extremely warm and welcoming, with excellent service, a wide ranging menu to suit all tastes, and delicious food at fair prices. Congratulations to the management and chef for sourcing high quality ingredients and preparing and presenting them so beautifully and to the waiting staff for service with a smile. A first class place for a relaxed meal out. We will most definitely be going back. Historyman
