Prashad first opened in Bradford in 1986 but it’s only since 2004 that this Indian vegetarian restaurant has been serving sit-down meals. It’s very much a Patel family affair with mother in the kitchen and father and son managing the restaurant. Prashad is a Gujarati word which translates literally as ‘blessed food’ and what’s on offer is a choice of healthy vegetarian chaat dishes, the kind of popular street snacks available across India. Mrs Patel has picked up numerous awards for her cooking, including Yorkshire chef awards and South Asian chef awards. Awards | Good Food Guide 2
