I would definitely recommend this restaurant we went on a Tuesday night it was my daughters fiance birthday, it was a quiet night very relaxing the food was lovely and the staff very friendly, will be going back very shortly and be trying the weekends in there too.

came here for a party on Saturday night, wow! the food was fantastic, the staff were brilliant and the entertainment was excellent. everyone there made our hen party night unforgettable and the bride had the biggest smile on her face that i have ever seen. we are from stoke on trent and we have all said that we will certainly visit here again as soon as we can.

This is the best Greek restaurant in Liverpool, the food is excellent, and the staff are very welcoming. Party nights are FANTASIC Live music, Greek dancing. What ever night you choose there is always a wonderful welcome at Christakis.

You cannot fault the food, atmosphere, the staff and the whole experience. We come at least twice a week and never tire of the restaurant. You must come on a Saturday evening for the best night in Liverpool.

We recently got married in Greece and wanted to celebrate with our family and friends in the tradition of Greece - good food, wine, ouzo, Greek music and dancing, we did it in style at Christakis Taverna !
We had the Greek Banquet for our 70 guests, and as always it was good food, and very generous !
Everyone has said it was the best wedding celebration they have been to, it was a fantastic night and will be remembered by all !
Christakis and his Staff always give a warm welcome and excellent service. Once you're inside the Taverna you could be anywhere in Greece, it has the same friendly relaxed atmosphere, which is a great way to escape from our English grey days !
We will certainly be returning, and so will our Guests.

WE had booked a table for 16 at christakis on the 3rd oct 2009,we were celebrating an 18th birthday so there was a mixture of ages from young to old we all had a fantastic time the food was excellent the atmosphere was great. the staff are really welcoming and made a fuss of everyone even though there were a few parties in that night we still got great service, i have been here a few times before and i have not been disappointed . looking forward to eating here again

My family and I visited on 9th October 2009 . I am a member of their loyalty club and as such ate free as it was my birthday. There were six of us in total adults and children. We arrived early and ordered from their early bird menu(£7.95 a head). I have visited this restaurant many many times over the years and have never been disappointed with my food, tonight was no exception. The food is superb and the staff excellent. The serviceas always fast and polite. If you love Greek food but hate getting ripped off this is the place for you. I can't fault it on any level and it offers great value for money. went to christakis for a night out with a group of girls, wasn't what we expected as it was very lively and we had lots of fun!! the staff are all very friendly and are always there to help. would definitely go again as we enjoyed all the show and the music, which included the belly dancing and plate smashing etc.

After one of the greatest nights i had in such a good restaurant I feel i must tell everyone how perfect Christakis Greek Taverna is.
Our night comprised of a chicken kebab and chicken aphrodite and a nice bottle of makedonikos rose. We will definitely be back. The atmosphere brings back memories of my holiday in Greece.

My wife, myself and our four year old daughter ate at Christakis on Friday evening (02.10.09). We used our hi-life card and really enjoyed our food. Friendly service and great tasteing food. Our daughter is a very fussy eater so she had her dinner at home and did lots of colouring in while we dined. We shared our starters. we ordered calamari and haloumi/lounza. My wife had a seabass for her main and I had the mixed grill. The mains are served with rice and chips. I managed to finish my mixed grill, just! it was really tasty. Pork kebab, Chicken kebab, Greek sausage, Lamb chops and another sausage made from mincemeat (sheftalia I think). Would order it again. The Chicken kebab was my favourite. Hardly touched any of the rice or chips. If anyone is on a low carb/Atkins diet then this is a meal you could have! My wife had the seabass which I did not taste but she said it was fine. We have eaten at Christakis before and as is always the case, the manager came over to us. He is very friendly and genuinely wants to know how the food was and if we enjoyed our dining experience. Glad to say that as usual, we really enjoyed our meal at Christakis! Looking forward to going back there.

I attended a hen night here on the 12.09.2009 and i have to say it was the best night ever. It is not often that a venue can offer excellent food and entertainment at a very reasonable price. The atmosphere was that of a "big fat Greek wedding" where the entire room takes part. This is one place i will be recommending everybody visits when in Liverpool.

I celebrated my 40th birthday here on 16th July. I have to say it was the best dining experience I have ever had eating out in Liverpool. I booked a table for 28 people. We were catered for beautifully. The service was excellent. The food delicious and the entertainment fab! The owner was on hand to ensure that a great night was had. I was treated like a queen and made to feel really special. This venue now will have 28+ regular customers for future dining as everyone had a brilliant time. Well done and thank you for helping make my birthday great. I will be back soon.

Been many times(yesterday latest) since Kebab House went downhill a couple of years ago,, what a splendid place. Wonderful authentic food, large portions, child friendly, really helpful staff , very reasonable prices and great ambiance. A great asset for all Liverpool greek foodies. can't wait to go back again (next week).

I own a catering business on the Wirral & we held our works night out at Christakis Ladies night. We are all in agreement that it was a fantastic night out, food fantastic (Vegetable Moussaka gorgeous), service quick and friendly, entertainment great. In conclusion, if you're looking for a great night out with a holiday atmosphere this is the place for you.

Have been to Christakis several times in the past few weeks. Brill restaurant, food excellent, staff fab, good atmosphere, not stuffy. Serves big portions and lots of free nibbles and ouzo, metaxa etc. Drinks reasonably priced. Tucked away in a small quiet street. Best place in Liverpool in my opinion.

We arrived at Christakis on a Friday night with high expectations for the evening and we were not disappointed. The food lived up to the promise of the menu and the Kelftako was as good as any that I have had in either Greece or Cyprus. Four of us each had two courses and every dish was a winner. The atmosphere was great, the staff attentive without being intrusive. A great night and if we visit Liverpool again we will be going back to Christakis.

We had a fantastic time at Christakis Restaurant. 14 Mad women arrived from Ireland for my Hen night!! We were greeted with a very warm reception by owner Chris. Everybody raved about the food and great party atmosphere for days after. We truly enjoyed the Greek dancing etc!! We had a FANTASTIC night!! and i can not recommend it enough!! The food is absolutely wonderful despite the large numbers they had to cater for. I will happily return for another visit!!

Last Friday, a company of 20 girls went to Christakis' to find out that this restaurant is The Best Greek Restaurant in Merseyside.
The restaurant was really busy, but I felt that Christakis' family were there just for us!
The food was just delicious, the service was perfect and all of us had a go with the traditional Greek dancing and the belly dancing. Not to forget about the shots of ouzo (Yammas)!!

Thanks to everyone at Christakis, you made my 30th birthday on Saturday one to remember. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left we were made to feel so welcome, the staff were very attentive. Despite it being a large group the food all arrived quickly and together allowing us all to enjoy it at the same time. Once the food was eaten the fun and games began! It is obvious from seeing the staff they love working there and enjoy making sure everyone has a great night. The whole night went without any trouble and the show they put on is brilliant, and they make sure to include the audience. I have already recommended it to friends and can't wait to go back. I went to Christakis last Saturday with 15 friends to celebrate my 30th and my sister's 18th birthdays.
We had a fabulous night and will be going back again very soon.
The food was tasty and great value and the cocktails are amazing.
Everyone who worked in Christakis was so friendly and they really made a fuss of us with it being our birthdays.
We had a go at Greek dancing, belly dancing and thoroughly enjoyed the disco until 2am! The dj was very obliging in playing lots of old cheesy favourites!
If you are looking for a night that's a bit different and great fun - you must give this place a go! It's especially good for big girly nights! We will be back there very soon!

I've lived in Liverpool 10 years now and my mum was coming up for the weekend. I wanted to take her somewhere different so i thought I'd try Christakis. Well I certainly wasn't disappointed. Great service, great food ( i'd recommend the Meze, course after course of delicous Greek dishes) and a wonderful atmosphere. It was like being back on me holidays in Cyprus! Its just a shame we couldn't stay for the belly dancing! Still I'm sure we'll be back time and again. Thanks to all the staff for a great night, and a free shot of ouzo!

I celebrated my 40th birthday with 80 friends at Christakis and everybody had a brilliant night. The food, the staff and the atmosphere were all fantastic. Christakis definitely played a big part in me having a birthday to remember.

I went to Christakis for my 21st on the 22nd of feb 08. There was 17 of us in total and everyone had a good time. The food was lovely and the wine went down well ha. The choice of food was excellent especially as it was from a set menu. My friend got me a cake and it was no problem for the staff to sort the candles out for me and sing happy birthday. The plate smashing and Greek dancing was different and my boy friend even got asked up to belly dance. Everyone had a dance as there is a disco after the Greek entertainment. This wasn't the first time I have been to Christakis and it will not be the last, great food and friendly helpful staff.

I have since my visit read reader recommendations on this site to discover that so many other people have had such a great time at this taverna. I wanted to add my comments and find that i need only keep mine brief as i would only be repeating others before me.
This restaurant is a MUST! You might not think Greek food is to your liking, but honestly there really is something for everyone.
We were a party of about 40 and each and everyone of us was welcomed at the door by the owner, Christakis. The taverna was a nice and warm cosy welcome from the rain outside. Like others, we had our tables for the entire evening. The place was packed with other diners but i felt that the attention we received meant that only our party was there, forgetting that the friendly staff were serving about another 10 tables at the same time; you would never have known. This gave a great atmosphere.
Every single aspect of the evening was terrific and I am not easily pleased at all and more often than not favour cooking at home to ensure having a good meal and having value for money. My faith in the restaurant world has now been restored thanks to Christakis. I might now feel able to dine out more often but i remain cautious, where could be as good? I don't know.
Food, service and entertainment was 100%.
Join in if you want to, dont if you dont!
The loo's in my mind could have done with being refreshed during the evening (if only the attentive staff had a moment to spare, which i dont think they had), but maybe I am just very particular.
My biggest THANK YOU goes to Christakis when I phoned him on the following Monday enquiring whether he had found my gold bracelet and the buckle from my coat? He said he would look and get back to me. Of course, i never expected to hear from him. But no, i was wrong. Within hours he was able to tell me he had both and would look after them for me ready to be collected. Sam returned the following day to collect my valuables and his treasured birthday cake which the Taverna had been looking after for the past 3 days.
THANK YOU CHRISTAKIS FOR THE HONESTY OF YOUR STAFF WITH MY TREASURED BELONGINGS. SO REFRESHING.

Definitely a restaurant with a difference.
If you're looking for a group night out that will provide the whole package then look no further. We opted for the meat banquet which was utterly gorgeous, with something for everyone (the moussaka was especially melt-in-the-mouth). The service was excellent with virtually no wait. Later there was traditional Greek dancing complete with plate-smashing and dancing through flaming alcohol (eek!) and belly dancing (which I have now vowed to try out). If you don't like the idea you may be plucked from your seat to join in then you should avoid the end of the table! With dj and dancing late in to the night there is little need to move on elsewhere -a fabulous night out.

They say word of mouth is the best form of communication, in this case it's absolutely true! I booked for this restaurant for my boyfriends birthday just last night for originally 15 people. I had read the reviews and thought it sounded brilliant so decided to try it. I cant praise it enough. it was the most FANTASTIC night ever. Just like everybody else says the food was delicious and the atmosphere was amazing. However i have to honestly say what meant more tome was that they were more than helpful and accommodating to me. I don't know how they put up with me to be honest! 5 times i rang to add more people on/off and in the end i ended up with 19 coming. Everytime i spoke to Christakis himself and nothing was ever a problem. Although i wasn't aware at first that i had to leave a deposit of £5 per person as we were in such a large group. You can pay this over the phone or go in. I did both and when all of my party had arrived he gave me my full deposit back and then everybody just paid the bill at the end. He kept his promise and made the night a whole lot more easier by doing this. for 19 people without drinks it came to £285. A bargain in my book! At the weekend you have to order off the party menu but there is more than enough choice. for £15 you can have a starter and a main meal or the greek meze which consists of 20 small dishes.

It was absolutely jam packed and once you have booked your table, you have it for the night. Which of course means you are not rushed to finish your meal and move on. ours was booked for 8.15 and the belly dancing and plate smashing began around 10.15. It was hilarious when the belly dancer got my friend up and dressed him up and made him dance with her. it definitely made his night! Then when all that finishes there is a dj till 2am. Its quite a small restaurant and the dancefloor got a little packed but it all added to the intimacy of the night. Being a lover of Greece anyway, i just had to go here. You completely forget that your in liverpool and it does make me want to go back to Greece.

I could go on forever of how great this restaurant is. All of the staff were great and all made us feel welcome. You just HAVE to go here. Thanks for giving is a brilliant night!

It was December and the office Christmas party had come round once again. The prospect of indifferent food served by indifferent staff whose sole aim was to get us in and out of their restaurant as fast as possible loomed.

I'd paid my deposit a few weeks earlier and in a Departmental vote, Chinese and Italian had lost out Greek - my preferred option with thoughts of holidays in Kefelonia and Crete in mind.

Expecting the usual indifferent formula we arrived at Christakis Taverna in time for our 7:30 booking to find our tables waiting. After meeting the guy who does the frequent radio adverts ("Well played Andreas!") we were shown to our tables.

Restaurant menus and Greek wine and beer arrived as we looked through the appetising options on offer. Eight of our party chose the banquet, while the remaining four selected from the menu.

Once the food started to arrive, it rapidly became apparent that this was not going to be another indifferent Christmas night out!

Those who had chosen the banquet were treated to what seemed like a never ending stream of Greek dishes, in ample portions, each tastier than the last. Those on the set menu saw their chosen dishes arrive - delicious legs of lamb were popular.

After the best meal I've enjoyed for a long time, we were treated to Greek dancing on a flaming dancefloor and with traditional plate smashing. Accompanied by atmospheric eastern music, belly dancing followed, with some well spirited audience participation, before the dancefloor was turned over to a disco.

With superb food, great service and stylish entertainment, this was without doubt the best Christmas night out I've had in Liverpool. I'll certainly be returning to Christakis in the New Year for a repeat performance!

what can i say! christakis is fab! there were 20 people in our party for a joint stag and hen do and we had the most fantastic time! the food was lovely (especially the hallumi and the garlic mushrooms yum yum!) and didnt taste like the mass produced rubbish you get when theres more than 2 of you! the service and atmosphere was great! marco the greek dancer is lovely and the belly dancers were fab!

On Saturday, i had one of the best nights ever in this Greek Taverna. The food was brilliant, the atmosphere was lovely and Christakis' staff was very helpful. The show was Fantastic and the night got even better with a DJ til 2 o' clock in the morning. If you want to feel a proper Greek atmosphere, taste the outstanding Greek cuisine and have one of your most amazing nights, this restaurant is highly recommended.

I booked for a table of 10 for a hen party and we could not of asked for more the service was friendly and welcoming the food was fabulous we had a banquet that was more than enough whilst enabling us to taste 22 different Greek dishes. The entertainment was brilliant as was the personal touch of getting the hen involved too. We all had a fabulous night and stayed to dance into the night I would recommend a visit as u wont be disappointed no matter what the occasion as I'm already planning my next visit. We had one of our best nights ever. Everything was absolutely perfect. Christakis Taverna is simply the best!

Came for my hen night. The food was excellent and my whole party of 14 girls really enjoyed the whole experience from start to finish. The male Greek dancer was particularly good and unique to any Greek restaurant I had ever been to. Together with the belly dancer and the DJ the entertainment was unforgettable. For a change I decided this year to do my birthday's party in a totally different environment; in a Greek restaurant. So, I booked a table at Christakis'. We were all excited about belly dancing and Zorba's Dance, so when we arrived i was a bit stressed whether my decision was right or not. The environment was really friendly, the restaurant was packed, the service was excellent and the meals were lovely (i've been in Greece a couple of times and i could say that it was the best Psiton Kleftico ever in my life) . It was about 22.00 that the show started and the DJ introduced Markos, the greek dancer and the belly dancer (i cannot remember her name). We all had a go with the belly dancer. And when the show was finished ...PartyTime! The DJ was playing a variety songs (70s, 80s, Dance, R'n'Bs - thanx for playing that Shakira for me mate - and of course Greek songs) till 2 in the morning. I had, by far, the best birthday's party in that restaurant and i'm not gonna wait till next year to go again...i' ve already booked a table for this Saturday!! Oooopaaaaaa.....!!!!!!

When i heard from my friends that we had to go to Liverpool for my best mates hen night, i was a bit worried. Then I heard that she booked at the Greek restaurant Christakis. We arrived at the restaurant at half past 7. By 8 o'clock, the restaurant was packed. We ordered the meat banquet, and believe me it was the best banquet i ever had in my life, so many starters, fresh kalamari, king prawns, lamb chops, chicken kebabs lamb and pork. one of the dishes that surprised me was the afelia in wine sauce. only in Cyprus i have tasted the same flavour. around 10 o clock, the lights went down they played the played the hen night song for my friend and she was really made up.t hen all the birthdays and suddenly that amazing young Greek dancer, he danced zorba the greek and zembekiko and i thought i was in Greece then the belly dancer stole the show and without realising the time was flying we finished at half past 2. We travelled all the way from Northern Ireland, and it was the best experience that i had. We will recommend to anybody this lovely restaurant!!!!

I love this restaurant. I have visited it twice in the past two weeks and on both occasions experience the same standards of food and service.

We went looking for a 'new' Greek restaurant to try after our favourite of over 30 years, the Kebab House, changed hands and went downhill fast. What a pity we hadn't found Christakis earlier. Excellent food at reasonable prices, very pleasant people - and the owner's little boy's Greek dancing kept us smiling! This is everything a Greek restaurant should be - and this was a 'quiet' Sunday night. We shall definitely be returning- and I didn't need to be 'bribed' with a discount card to say that!!

The staff are so happy to serve you, you feel like you're at home. The atmosphere is so relaxing with these lovely colours surrounded by lovely hand made paintings.

Brilliant food! Hospitality excellent! Decoration perfect! When the plate smashing started and the show I was over the moon! All my visitors were delighted that the whole package for the food and the entertainment it was just £15. The one and only real Greek Taverna

Fantastic meal, very friendly staff, Happy faces! Lovely decorated, and most important big and tasty meals. I don't regret the fact that I came all the way from London to discover what's the real Greek food! I give it 5 stars!!!

The food was fantastic and there was a good lively atmosphere. However the cost of drinks was very expensive.

Whilst the previous Greek restaurant on this site (down stairs) was extremely good, this is excellent! The food was brilliant, the service fast and friendly and the overall ambience was excellent - Christakis is also a charming host. Can't wait to go again.

Excellent restaurant. Food is delicious, staff are helpful and friendly. Have dined here and at the previous address for many years. I cannot fault this restaurant. The party nights are fantastic, great laugh and the mid-week early special is such a good reason not to stay in and cook!

christakis restaurant is a great place to go at the weekend if your in a party mood.the greek dancing was very entertaining so was smashing the plates.the food was delicious.it really got every one dancing.

It was a saturday night. When the lights went out people started to party,dance and drink the atmosphere was electric!The food was great.When it was time to go I didnt want to leave I was in paradise!cant wait to go again!

As a student living in liverpool i dont really get to go out much christakis is a great place to eat. The Belly dancing and greek dancing make you feel like your a million miles away from liverpool and the disco means that the place is rocking right through until two o'clock in the morning, i go once a month.

travelling down with family from oxford, christakis was recommended through word of mouth, we went on a friday night, the food was brilliant, the staff very helpful and the entertainment, greek dancing followed by a disco until two o'clock we stayed through the night and when the parents come to see me again we'll be going back, it really is that good!

This was a great night out as opposed to a nice meal. The entertainment was fab, the food was tasty. We be going back soon.

Christakis has successfully re-created the Mediterranean in Liverpool; it has an excellent atmosphere. There is entertainment on Fridays and Saturdays followed by music until late. The food is excellent with a great selection of drink to complement it. I personnally recommend the Greek banquet! If you want to enjoy an evening out and feel like you've been somewhere more exotic than Liverpool go there!
