Andalucia on Warrington’s Bridge Street is a Mediterranean restaurant serving mainly Lebanese and Moroccan food. It opened in September 2006 and the chef here used to cook at a 6-star hotel in Dubai. The a la carte choice is extensive and the best way to explore it is by sharing an array of small dishes (mezza) around the table. Not only do you get to sample a selection of relatively unfamiliar dishes; it also reflects the way the Lebanese themselves eat, eschewing the traditional three-course meal in favour of a more convivial ‘sharing’ approach. Lebanese cuisine focuses on herbs rather than sauces, letting the fresh ingredients speak for themselves with fruits, vegetables, fresh fish and seafood figuring strongly.
