Within its first year of opening, Little Pizza Kitchen in Waterloo has picked up a prestigious Gold Award at the National Pizza, Pasta and Italian Food Awards. Tribeca bar and pizzeria is housed in an enormous double fronted old warehouse on Berry Street on the edge of Chinatown. The space has a lower and upper floor with a minstrels gallery accessed by two sets of stairs left and right. The lower floor houses the open Pizza kitchen where you can watch the chefs in action and there is a large bar to the right and to the left a dining area. Going upstairs there is another lounge and dining area, both these areas feature quirky modern antique furniture from the 60’s and 70’s. There is green and brown décor with wooden tables and comfy leather chairs or leather booth seating, in one area it has been set up to look live a living room from the late 60’s complete with an electric bar fire, standard lamp and period art on the walls. Drinks wise there are all the beers, wines and spirits you would expect in a premium style bar. The pizzas are made with Italian dough and are thin based 12" and stone baked. They are all priced at a great value £5 and there is a choice of 20 different types including the Tribeca Classico - the chef's own creation made with a lot of love. From May there are live bands every Thursday with DJs on Fridays and Saturdays. The venue can accommodate up to 350 people, is happy to rent out the upstairs for private parties and is children friendly until 9pm when the music may get a little louder playing Indie Rock and 80’s classic tunes.
