Sakura Liverpool is the largest Teppanyaki restaurant in the North of England. Based in the prestigious Exchange Flags of Liverpool directly adjacent to the Town Hall, Sakura opened in May 2010 and has certainly caused a good reaction. The 400 cover restaurant features an open plan dining room with expert Teppanyaki chefs working their magic amongst the tables. The interior is impressive, a contemporary and stylish space with state of the art lighting, large tanks containing live lobsters and oysters and they claim to offer the largest selection of live seafood in the UK, most of which is delivered direct from the Orkneys. Located on Castle Street, the Liverpool San Carlo is something of a departure from the regular formula, open and airy with red and black furnishings and a super-stylish lounge and bar area. The emphasis is on classic Italian food cooked fresh to order with fish and seafood a speciality. As well as the main menu there’s a specials board that changes daily and a good wine list that is 95% Italian. San Carlo is open every day from 12 noon until 11pm.
