Just had a lovely lunch at room 47. My friend and I arrived at 12o'clock and were dealt with immediately. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was served promptly and was very enjoyable. The decor is great the background music makes you feel that you are in Spain. More guests soon arrived and when we left it was quite full. Well done and thanks=will be recommending you to my friends.

My daughter and I visited Room 47 on Saturday 16th October around 18:00 and definitely wouldn't recommend Room 47, albeit reasonable enough to look at and fairly tasty food, but far too heavy use of butter and oils, also the service left a lot to be desired. We were told to sit on the sofas and given a menu each, which we both looked through deciding what we'd like to eat as did look a nice variety of choice. My daughter decided to have one of the steak meals but as there was no mention whether it came with potatoes, chips etc, she decided to ask as she would have liked chips, the waitress informed her she doubted this was allowed but said she'd check. The waitress then came back and told my daughter that no chips could be served with the steak dish as it came with a variety of mixed vegetables including potatoes which could be split, and was informed that she could order chips as a side dish if she chose, which wasn't what my daughter wanted as the majority of eating places will do their best to cater for you, but obviously not at room 47. We placed our order and were still left sitting on the sofas till we both asked if we were allowed to sit at the table as we were getting cold sitting there, the waiter said he was just coming to move and we should be patient - How rude to be spoken to like this! To cut a long story short both our meals came, my daughter got her steak with a side dish of vegetables compromising cabbage, carrot & swede and cauliflower, but no potatoes, which we were both, mystified about and said so. A waiter must have overheard us and we told him, he went to check and told us that normally dauphinoise potatoes are served but for some reason they had been cancelled, which we nor he had any idea why. The waiter went to sort it out and eventually brought my daughter the dauphinoise potatoes. The meal we both had was only reasonable as my daughter did find quite a lot of tough fat/gristle she couldn't chew, plus the carrot & swede mix had far too much butter added, the vegetables was overcooked and the dauphinoise potatoes once again had far too much butter added - So our first experience of eating in Ormskirk wasn't such a pleasant experience and we will definitely not be going back, nor will either of us recommend it - Such a shame really as Ormskirk seemed quite a nice place and it would have been nice to explore more of it, but our eating experience put us both off.

A lovely place to eat, tapas choice is fab and the set meal menu too. Sangria has to be the best I've tasted outside of Spain. The decor is lovely, staff are attentive and polite. I would definitely recommend Room 47 to anyone who enjoys good food and service.

Room 47, excellent from start to finish. Service could not have been better. Had a drink then ordered our meals, minutes later we were taken to our table. As soon as we were settled down our meals arrived. No waiting round. Food was excellent and present well. This is a great little place and we will be back.

My mother lives in the Ormskirk area and we quite often take her to Room 47 for Lunch/Dinner on a Sunday. As it's a family day out the kids come along too, which isn't an issue, although it would be an excellent venue for couples later in the evening. The owners and staff are fantastic and the food is excellent. Starter & Steak offer on Sunday (£10) is great value for money and the Lasagna (home made) is top drawer. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

My partner and I stumbled upon Room 47 on Friday night whilst trying to find somewhere new to eat in the Ormskirk area. We where not disappointed, from the start we where welcomed by the waiting staff and made to feel like we had been a regular visitor to the place, Seated in comfortable surroundings we browsed the wine lists. Most of our time, we sat discussing the Tapas menu, or if to try one of the many main courses, we settled on Tapas and we did not regret it. We where seated and the Manageress(Owner) who explained they would stagger our food so it did not get cold, the food arrive and once we started there was no way this food was going to be around long enough to go cold it was fantastic. My Girlfriend did say the chef and the staff deserved a medal at the time, and it would have been well deserved. We made our way through four tapas meals each and then onto dessert, which by are eating habits is a lot but the tastes where outstanding. I cannot recommend this place so highly, the staff where welcoming and friendly, the food was fantastic and the whole experience was excellent. We may have stumbled across this place but it is one that we will never forget, and we are already looking for our next return very soon.

Whether you're looking for tapas or a traditional a la carte experience Room 47 ticks the boxes. A varied and substantial menu at very affordable prices. I ate the Suckling Pig which was delicious. The ambience following recent renovations is fantastic. I've eaten at some of the best across Merseyside and Room 47 was definitely top 5. There is a large number of unique tapas dishes on the menu all at very reasonable prices. The decoration is modern yet comfortable and warm which is sometimes difficult to achieve. definitely recommended
