Located in South Liverpool, on the buzzy Allerton Road, The Gallery Bar & Grill provides a sophisticated and contemporary space for socialising, drinking and eating. Spread over two floors, the ground floor bar offers premium spirits, unusual bootled beers, cocktails and a good wine list. The windows open up in the summer to create a continental feel and booth seating provides an ideal place to meet for business or an after-work get together. The décor is elegant and features a cream and dark wood colourway with brasserie style tables and chairs, stylish chandelier lighting and bold designer wallpaper. The upstairs dining room is home to some of the best modern British cooking available in Liverpool; head chef Chris Dougan is on fire here, creating accomplished dishes using fine local produce, with top quality presentation. Aided by a slick and professional front of house team the atmospheric restaurant is becoming the talk of the town. The seasonal menu offers the best in line caught and ethically sourced fish and organic local meat and vegetables. Enjoy starters such as pan roasted scallops with their own recipe black pudding and rare-bit gratin and mains of pan fried sea bass with a warm potato salad and buttered surf clams or crisp pork belly with creamed potato, a grain mustard sauce and pea mousse. There are some fine locally reared steaks on offer from the grill which come with hand cut real chips cooked in dripping. The desserts are all homemade and include their signature Eton Mess and cappuccino crème brulee, vanilla foam and shortbread. They are currently developing a tasting menu showcasing regional, seasonal produce with flair.
