Located on Balls Pond Road in Islington, Puji Puji has been the established home of Satay in London since 2004. This neighbourhood Malaysian restaurant specialises in charcoal grilled Satay using their own unique and delicious marinade, created with the finest spices and herbs marinated for no less than 24 hours and cooked over an aromatic chargrill. Other authentic Malaysian dishes are also available such as Rendang, Nasi Lemak and Roti Canai as well as a host of fresh seafood. The menu follows the seasons and in winter you will see venison and scallops, in summer, seabass, monkfish and spring lamb specials. The restaurant offers great value not least because you can bring your own wine and for parties of less than 8 people there is no corkage charge. Inside there are wooden tables and chairs for up to 35 diners with a decked outside area at the front for al fresco dining. ‘Puji’ is Malaysian for ‘Praise’ and that’s what the locals are full of for this restaurant.
