Wow what a place! Brilliant service and excellent food. A hidden gem just waiting to be found. Walked past so many times and was put off by the budget menu but really had s great time. Will definitely recommend and return.

WE have just returned from a further visit to Leonis and once more were most delightfully entertained. The food was excellent, and we enjoyed the recommended wine being the Chilean de Grasby, Montgras. An excellent wine now which was established 90 years ago named carmenere per bottle description, and it is bold and tasty, well worth trying and at 14.5%is full of flavour.

Gordon and Irene from Old Glossop wish to thank Leonis for some of the finest Italian food on offer. We have been a number of times and Irene just loves the pasta. Personally my choice is the cannalloni, with the plain garlic bread for a starter, which melts like cream in the mouth. A very good selection of wines available(the chianti is very tasty) and to top it the fruit sweet, and ice creams, coffee super. The staff are very good, they look after everything well without bothering you. This is a must if you want good food. Compliments to the Chef and thanks again.

My girlfriend and I visited Leonis on Saturday 23rd May 2009. The food, service and atmosphere were fantastic, in fact, outstanding. We would recommend the restaurant to anybody visiting Manchester. Don't forget dessert, the tiramisu was the best we've ever had!!! Yum!!!!!!!!

Our party of 30 plus had our Xmas meal here on Wednesday 10th December 08. This place is a little gem! From starters of BBQ spare ribs, garlic mushrooms and Tricolor salad ( Avocado, Tomato and Cheese) to main courses of Linguini Piscatore ( Prawns) and Pollo ( Chicken ) and Prawn salad to Desserts of Ice Cream and Tiramisu the food and service was excellent. The place was very busy with it being so near to Xmas but everything was served on time. The restaurant itself is situated in a basement off Bow Lane , just off Cross Street near to Manchester Town Hall. The restaurant itself is quite spacious and is adequate for large groups or a romantic meal for two. Thank you Leoni for a lovely evening!

The service was excellent, the live entertainment was most enjoyable and the pasta dishes were to die for. Certainly a place we will be visiting again in the not too distant future. A little bit of authentic Italy right here in Manchester. Loved it!!!.

warm and friendly restaurant. it was busy, which i think is always a good sign for a restaurant. The starters and mains were very tasty. bit unfortunate that the tapas menu was not available as i think it would be very popular! very good service and friendly staff. will definitely visit again if in the area.

I have been going to Leonis for about 20 years and decided I should put on a recommendation. Out of all restaurants in Mcr this is the only one I go back to time and time again. Whether it is for lunch when you just want some nice pasta and a diet coke or in the evening when you want to eat loads and wash it down with lots of vino - this is a great place and I have taken loads of my friends there over the years - SO TRY IT!

Myself and my husband went to this restaurant on the 13/01/07 (Sat night). My husband is from Chile so we purposefully picked out this restaurant and weren't disappointed - food and service was excellent, my husband had paella which really enjoyed and I had the chicken in a white/cream sauce with asparagus which was also lovely. There was some live music on which added to the already pleasing ambience of the place. Glad we sought this restaurant out and will definitely be going back to try the steak!!

My fiancé (from Texas) and I (born and bred Mancunian) had late lunch here today (Thursday 2nd November 2006). The starters were light refreshing and well presented - he had calamari and I had avocado and prawns. Main course was swordfish for me - cooked to perfection with beautifully cooked new potatoes and spinach Rob had a Clazone - which for pure size would have daunted me, again beautifully cooked and presented. We chose a Le Huerta wine from Chile which complimented the meal. Afters was a fruits with ice cream - large enough to share after the magnificent main meal. Service was prompt, and attentive with the owner making sure that as new patrons we were fully satisfied. Would never have known about this restaurant if we had not been members of the Hi-Life dining club (which offers 2 meals for1 at certain eateries). Would definitely rate this as a hidden gem and will be recommending to all our friends. NUCLEARBRIT

We ate at Leonis on Saturday 12th August 2006.This was a party of four. Had I not booked on-line, I would not have had a clue where this was due to being in an alley type street, the entrance did not look inviting and I would probably not have chosen this based upon this, but once in the restaurant it was more than inviting. The service was a bit erratic and we had to remind the waiters of our orders for drinks etc. We counter-acted this by ordering our drinks before we had finished the others. The food was excellent and there was a wide choice on the menu. We attended for my Wife's Birthday and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. I would recommend this restaurant.

I had lunch at Leonis today. I had a Pizza di Salumi (parma ham and salami, with fresh rocket and parmesan shavings). It was really really good. One of the people I was with had Penne Piccanti and she said it was very good too, parmesan sprinkled on top made it outstanding.

Definitely recommended, but perhaps at its best in the evenings.

The service here is great, the owner is such a delight and really makes an effort to make you feel welcome! The steaks here are the BEST in Manchester by far! Fantastic Argentinean beef! The homemade lasagne is also extremely good! I would recommend Leonis to everyone!

I took my family to Leonis last week. The food was excellent, good quality and Louis the Owner treated us all so well. Infact my 17 month old son can now play the Bongos thanks to him. This is a hidden gem of Manchester. I will be recommending it to all of my friends.

Went with my Mother and a friend last week. Everything was brilliant. I had the Bruchetta to start, which was plentiful and delightful. My Mother had the Ribs and thoroughly enjoyed them (including licking the fingers!!) and my friend had the Calamari which was also very much enjoyed. For the mains I had the Estofado de Cordero "Lamb Stew", my Mother had the Penne Arrabiata, and my friend had the Salmon and all were thoroughly enjoyed. I also got to dance with the Manager, which seems to be a constant throughout the night, where he will select a "lovely" lady to dance with!! The menu is diverse and there is something to suit everyone, even those with the pickiest attitudes towards food. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough!!
