Really lovely food, improved so much since the new chef started in August. Warm friendly atmosphere thanks to the new log burner and recent refurbishment will be going there regularly!

We went to bouchon last week, coming all the way from Newcastle by train, and what an experience! from the arrival all the way to the goodbye, a fantastic experience. So good that we have booked again for their Christmas menu. We had the Crispy Mussel Galette, a sort of pancake with fresh mussels, leeks & carrots inside, and to follow we had the Calves Liver, which has a lovely shallot & nut crust on top. My girlfriend had the Onion Soup, totally authentic, and then the monkfish cooked in red wine. She was too full to have a dessert, but not full enough to share my chocolate profiteroles! A beautiful bottle of French wine recommended by the helpful & professional staff, all that for a very reasonable price. Perfect 3 f's:French, Friendly & Fun!

Just wanted to give some feed back after a great meal at your place last night. What a fantastic place you have there, the staff were really nice and the place has great setting that is very welcoming. The food was first class and everyone, even the French Guys, enjoyed it and you know how fussy they can be when it comes to food. I will be looking into booking it for my Xmas bash and will be in touch in due course. Once again a big thank you and good luck in the future, your place is what Newcastle has been waiting for Gary Nash

I loved this restaurant. Attracted initially by the menu posted outside, my husband and I wandered in on an a cold windy Thursday night and were not disappointed. I started with some deliciously fragrant lamb patties and followed this with one of the best minute steaks I have ever tasted. Husband was equally happy starting with a perfect risotto, followed by crispy pork belly which was cooked to perfection. The portions were generous, so much so that I could not fit in a pudding but my companion managed to find a corner for some very special bread and butter pudding. In conclusion the food was fantastic, the staff were attentive and friendly and the atmosphere was both comfortable and relaxing. I highly recommend Pan Haggerty, and am looking forward to my next visit.

We visited Pan Haggerty on the recommendation of a friend and had a really enjoyable evening. The fixed price menu offers brilliant value for money, and wonderful food. Not only is the food absolutely delicious, but the portions are huge! The waiting staff are friendly and welcoming (without being intrusive) but are also very knowledgeable about the food and wine. I had salt cod fishcakes (not the sort of thing I would normally choose) which had a really subtle flavour - much nicer than the ubiquitous salmon fishcakes - followed by steak which was perfectly cooked. There was a family with young children on the table next to us, and was very impressed to see that the chef was happy to cook a child sized portion of chicken goujons especially for the children, even though it wasn't on the menu. When we were in the restaurant it was early evening, and a little quiet, however the food was so good that we went back for Sunday lunch, and the place was fully booked and absolutely buzzing. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone! Cannot wait to go back there. It is a fantastic restaurant!

Having read the comments on sugarvine my wife and I decided to have a meal at the Saroo and found it a very pleasing experience. The staff were welcoming and helpful, the decor was delightful and the menu extensive. The prices were very reasonable and we will recommend this restaurant without reservation.
