Our experience of Bistro Italiano was totally unacceptable. Good food was ruined by rushed and extremely rude service.
We went for a meal during the happy hour, arriving half an hour before the advertised 'order-by' time, making it clear that we intended to eat from the happy hour menu. However, we then found it extremely difficult to get anyone to take our order. When someone finally did come, at one minute before the cut-off time, we were told that no more happy hour orders were allowed - in fact, that rather than ordering before that time, we should have left by that time (contradicting details outlined in the menu). When we questioned this, we were told angrily by the manager to leave. After further discussion, we did manage to negotiate, but were then treated with rushed food, served with a frown. Altogether a miserable experience.
We should add that we have previously had problems with Bistro Italiano overcharging, and have frequently had to contest the bill. Such a shame, given the quality of the food.
