We arrived at the Gate after work for a meal to cheer ourselves up after a horrible week of freezing weather. We had passed this restaurant on several occasions and thought it looked very appealing. We arrived at the restaurant at 6pm and approached the desk where we were greeted by a young man who began to take our order and then very rudely turned away while we were talking and started to talk to another young colleague who then took over our order.
We then took our seats and went to get some food. We are not fussy eaters at all but we were shocked at the quality and quantity of food on offer. The pizza was very dry, the pasta looked like the pasta you find stuck to the bottom of the pan once you drain it, the curry was watery, the chips were dry and the onion rings tasted like they had been there for weeks.
My fiance has a big appetite and even he struggled to eat a second plate as the food was so unappealing. I then approached the crepe counter and asked for an ordinary sugar and lemon crepe. I was told in a very off hand manner that she had no lemon. She was very rude and seemed put out that I had even asked her. I then ordered a chocolate crepe but could not eat it as the chocolate was a horrible sickly sauce.
At the back of the restaurant there were signs which stated that they sold 'healthy noodles'. In fact they only had one pan of noodles which were completely tasteless and crunchy in places.
I then went to the toilets - up the prison like staircase, and was unable to use the toilet as the door wouldn't even shut.
Finally, we left the restaurant (feeling hungry) and although we tried to make eye contact with the manager, we weren't even given the courtesy of a 'Goodbye'.
We are absolutely disgusted and very disappointed at the level of service and food which we received this evening. We shall not be returning and although my company had suggested having our Christmas Party at Gekko, I have told my boss not to book.
We never complain and do not want to give the impression that we are writing for the sake of it. It really was a horrible experience and to be honest I couldn't even tell you what kind of food they sell.

Fantastic. Had a Chinese soup to start, then some mexi nachos, a pizza which was freshly baked for me, a bit of Indian, followed by a freshly made pancake and a cheesecake. Couldn't honestly eat any more. Next time I am trying the noodle bar, pasta and chargrill. They also do sushi but i never eat this. i have travelled all over the world and never come across a restaurant as good as this. They do virtually everything and they do it very well. Best all you can eat restaurant around and was only £6.99 for lunch. I think they charge about £12 in the evening
