Inspired by the laid back vibes of early 1970’s Jamaica, Pelanconi created the Alter-ego ‘Prince Fatty’ which was a tongue in cheek reference to King Tubby. Fatty’s known for his up-beat, positive and organic funky reggae, mixed in an analogue haze of vintage spring reverbs, tape echoes and dub sirens, Prince Fatty won’t disappoint lovers of upbeat summer sounds.

Where else would you hold the UK’s largest pie festival but in Melton Mowbray the UK Capital of Pies. A national celebration of pasties and pies, sweet and savoury, hot and cold. All undercover. Talks, tastings, workshops as well as cider, cakes cheese etc compliment the pies..
Piemakers from across the country will be sampling their wares in the hope of tempting you to buy their specialities. A number will be Supreme Champions or Class Winners at the prestigious British Pie Awards. New this year will be the Pie Kitchen where visitors will be able to eat hot pies at the Festival either on their own or accompanied by mash, veg and lashings of tasty gravy.
And not only pies, PieFest will have it all, from cheese to cider, cakes, beer and everything else that compliments the perfect pie. Most of which will be sourced from within the East Midlands Region.
Apart from the main event of perusing, choosing and tasting as many pies as possible there will also be a whole host of talks including “How to Rate a Pie” and “A History of Pies”. A ‘Pie Panel’ of experts will answer all your pie queries. There will also be workshops on how to make the perfect pie. Adding to the jovial spirit of the day there will be a range of entertainment on offer.

The 7th festival will be held on the first weekend of August 2017 and we are looking forward to another great day out for chilli enthusiasts, food lovers and families. To be held with the kind permission of the Earl of Shaftesbury at St Giles Park, we’re lining up a glorious weekend of “chilli fiesta”, with stalls selling all things chilli, from pepper plants to cayenne condiments; seeds to ceramics; plus cooking demonstrations; talks on growing chillies; artisan food producers; music; spicy street food; local ice creams to cool the mouth; local beers to slake the thirst.
We have some of the most dedicated independent sauce manufacturers and retailers booked in to attend already and some of the country’s best specialist chilli growers to showcase their plants and seeds to thousands of visitors at what is sure to be 2017's hottest event in Dorset. The development of the Dorset Naga, at one time reputed to be the world’s hottest chilli, has really put Dorset on the map for chilli enthusiasts. Come and join us at this fun, friendly festival!
One of the highlights of the Festival are the Chefs visiting the Food Theatre stage, and this year there’s another impressive line-up. On Saturday Tom Kerridge, Galton Blackiston and The Craft Beer Boys take centre stage, whilst on the Sunday it’s the turn of Jean Christophe Novelli, Sabrina Ghayour and The Craft Beer Boys.
They are ably supported by our chefs appearing on the roadshow stage. Seafood Specialists the Crabstock Boys Adrian Bartlet and Andy Hunting and local guest chefs.
Making a welcome return in 2017 the Fruit de Mer Restaurant and will offer you the opportunity to dine in the Crabstock Festivals© Ltd “Seafood & Shellfish” Pop Up Restaurant called “Crab, Stock & 2 Smoking Lobsters”, where a fantastic “Tastes of the Sea” Platter will be served up. You may also know this lovely dish as “Fruits de Mer”. Places are limited to 45 per day and cost £49.95 per person.
