Beer Festival

When: Weds 18th - Sun 22nd Oct (see website for daily opening times)

Where: Albert Square

How much? £5-£10 for general admission and £10-£20 for a Bavarian Package

What to expect: Get your dirndl and lederhosen ready, Albert Square is to be transformed into a traditional Bavarian Oktoberfest with live traditional oompa music and an authentic German party atmosphere. Guests can drink and work on their biceps at the same time enjoying German beer from giant two-pint glasses in an open-air beer garden. A 2000-seater party tent will host German music and dancing while the square will be turned into a pop-up village featuring rows of wooden stalls selling traditional souvenirs as well as food such as twisted-knot bread, bratwurst, schnitzel and German style roast pork.

Food Celebration

Having grown from humble beginnings in 2002 into a first class feast of entertainment featuring workshops, seminars, tastings, competitions, demonstrations and over 120 hand-picked exhibitors (70% of which are from Devon), it truly is the very best that the South West has to offer. Described in The Telegraph as a ‘heady mix of celebrity chefs, parties, food markets, tasting shacks and demonstrations’, the festival is now a landmark event on the culinary calendar. What gives us extra stand out is the fact that we’re a free festival. Anyone and everyone is welcome to come along and take part without being charged an entry fee to the festival markets or the Chefs Demonstration Kitchen.

The Festival welcomes many special guests, from internationally renowned chefs to celebrated writers and critics, to provide a huge range of exciting, informative and downright delicious entertainment. Led by our Festival advocate, award-winning chef and restaurateur Mitch Tonks, a spellbinding array of household names ensure the festival is packed with both our local and national food heroes. Previous highlights have been top local and regional chefs, Simon Hulstone, Richard Bertinet, Romy Gill, and Angela Hartnett, TV and Radio personalities, Matt Tebbutt, Jay Rayner, Matthew Fort and Dan Saladino, and wine experts Susy Atkins (Sunday Telegraph, Saturday Morning Kitchen), Fiona Beckett (The Guardian) and Tim McLaughlin-Green from Sommeliers Choice.

Our real aim is to showcase the best that the South West has to offer – from Ashridge Cider and Cornish Seasalt through to the Good Game and South Devon Chilli Farm. We also want to shout about our award winning restaurants (The Seahorse, The Elephant in Torquay and the Millbrook Inn, South Pool, to name but a few) and their amazing chefs. Without being too biased, we probably have the most award winning chefs per square foot than anywhere else in the country. And with an abundance of locally-produced, high quality ingredients and a growing reputation for world-class food, Dartmouth is the perfect setting for what has been described as a ‘feast for the senses’.

Once a month we will be holding our very own Mini Gin Festival. 

The first one kicking off this Thursday 19th October running until Monday 23rd October. We will be handing one of our Wine Vending Machines over to showcase 8 of our finest gins. You can experiment with different gins, garnishes and mixers at your very own personal Gin Station. 

Come in and one of our staff will guide you through how it works then you can play to your hearts content.

Beer Festival

We hope you’ve saved the date and we’re really looking forward to seeing you all to tell you our news about the re-launch of the Beer Academy as the Beer & Cider Academy. We have a fresh look, a new offering and Gabe Cook, aka The Ciderologist, to take you through the route to pommelier.

Gabe Cook is a global cider expert who is trying to change the way we think and drink cider. He’s worked for all sizes and types of cider maker, from traditional farmhouse producers up to the world's largest. Now he’s bringing the good news to all via the Beer & Cider Academy in a mission to ensure that the world understands just how rich, varied, complex and downright fabulous cider and perry can be.

Our chefs will be setting up their butchers window at Roosters Bistro. here you can pick your cut and weight and pay by the ounce. Our chef will then cook your chosen steak on our Robata grill and serve it with fries, onion rings, watercress and pepper sauce.

Halloween is an all time favourite at BITE CLUB. The last two years we celebrated in grandeur at Leighton Hall. This year we will head out on another mystery tour to another fabulous destination!


Meet at St Annes Pier in your favourite costume and hop on board a coach to this year's Bite Club Halloween location.

Three courses of delicious, seasonal food plus a creative cocktail is included and of course all of our special touches. (transportation also provided)

What to expect: A two day event involving three tasting sessions in the spectacular setting of Manchester Cathedral, situated next door to independent wine merchant Hanging Ditch, who have been hosting this popular annual event for ten years. A wide selection of stunning wines, beers and spirits will be available in various guises including tutored wine walks and master classes presented by the wine gang.
