Great food. Plenty of it. Cook have a wicked sense of humour and the bar staff are very friendly and made us Aussies feel right at home. This pub became our local whilst in the area. Highly recommend it.

Half Moon Inn The – PaigntonMy favourite place in the world almost - well certainly for Sunday Lunch - I have never been disappointed, nor have those I have taken there. Featured in films, this lovely Georgian house is on the way from Marldon to Ipplepen about three miles inland from the sea and a mile or so off the Torbay Ring Road. The owners are very welcoming, the food excellent home cooking and the value is superb. Also great for evenings when open with a drink on the terrace overlooking the romantic setting of Compton Castle first. They also do scrumptious cream teas I'm told but have never had one.
Castle Barton – PaigntonGreat situation - stunning views over the Bay - good value - friendly staff. Have done a great job in refurbishing this place from a former Cafeteria. Can also sit outside if the weather is right!
Shoreline Bistro – PaigntonA lovely little restaurant, with very friendly owners and really great food. Not pretentious at all, but don’t be off put by this - the welcome is great and the cuisine truly Italian by a Chef Owner who knows and cares. Prepared to do what you want within reason, so if you have a favourite dish try him out - I’m sure he will oblige. Parking in cul-de-sacs opposite off main road - not difficult. Well recommended.
Quo Vadis – Paigntoni ordered a chicken dish it arrived in 30 mins when sitting down to eat 1 dish was short of a naan bread so i let the kids have the naan breads i called up said we are 1 naan short on the order i waited all night & still no one came so my curry is still waiting on it so i would not recommend

Thariks – PaigntonWhen we were having a short break in Devon last year we found this wonderful Italian Restaurant in Paignton ,The food ,service and ambience was like nothing i have ever tasted before, This was truly the best Italian food we have ever had, we have been back again and it was outstanding,We will always go back each time we are in Paignton
Quo Vadis – PaigntonThe Boathouse's situation right on the beach is the reason to enjoy either a meal, a snack or just a coffee here, any time of year. There are regular fish specials on the board, ranging between £12-£15 and a good selection of pastas, salads, pizzas and snacks. The Atlantic Seafood pizza with scallops is reason enough to visit, as are the salads. Main courses are generous, however for the sweet toothed visitors desserts are sadly less so, though equally yummy. Cheesecake should only come in one size - large. There's an excellent range of coffees and teas and watching the sea and occasional surfers at the right time of the year makes this eatery very enjoyable indeed.
The Boathouse Bar and Grill – PaigntonI've been here several times and tried a range from the tasty authentic menu. Special offers Sunday - Thursday are a 3 course meal for £7.99. You can bring your own bottles and there's no corkage charged, or buy from the restaurant's very generous bar! Ideally situated on the Torquay Road in Preston, parking is quite easy to find and it's on the bus route. However, it is a little quiet, particularly until 9, which is great if you want to enjoy your meal without too much background noise, but you aware of the Waiter at all times.
Tandoori Nights – PaigntonThis place has under gone a complete transformation and all credit has to go to Phil & Helen, the very friendly owners. The food is of excellent quality, locally sourced (hurrah!) and reasonably priced. The wine list offers really good value and I have to recommend the house wine - it's fantastic. The stunning views over the bay add to the friendly atmosphere - recommended!
Shoreline Bistro – Paigntonon my visit I found it above average for a wetherspoons it even has its own ale, issacs tipple, wortha look if your in paignton
Isaac Merritt – PaigntonI love sea food and was spoilt for choice. I choose Mussels to start followed by Sea Bass for my main. I'm afraid that I didn't have room for dessert! The quality and quantity will keep me as a very happy regular customer.
La Scala – PaigntonThis is one of the best Restaurants in this area I have been too, the menu is well balanced and their is always something new to try. The Chef will cook you anything you want if your dietry needs are special or if you just fancy something different. The best thing is the waitress take's your order at the table and helps you to choose.
Church House Inn The – Paigntonwhat a place to be, an excellent established business, great atmosphere friendly staff top quality food and service. Highly recommended. J.Smith Paignton
Ganges – PaigntonI am surprised that nobody has recommended this lovely pub/restaurant before. Really good menu with specials board and various 'theme' evenings. Food always excellent and staff very friendly and helpful. Good selection of wines. Lovely building with great garden for summer evenings. Would highly recommend
Church House Inn The – PaigntonThe owner remembered us from a visit 7 months earlier, his pleasant approach makes all feel welcome and the service and attention to detail by his son (I presume) was second to none, excellent menu quality of food and wine and a tiramisu to die for!! WE SHALL RETURN AGAIN!!
