LucyCooks – The Cookery School in the Lakes is a fabulous and colourful culinary experience. Situated in Staveley Mill Yard, near Kendal, it has a fresh and vibrant approach, where you will be inspired, educated and above all entertained. Whether you're 9 or 90, LucyCooks offer a whole range of individual one day practical courses and distinctly different demonstrations, designed to suit everyone from novice to Nigella. . . there's a course for all reasons and all seasons. Demo and Dine events are perfect entrees into the world of LucyCooks, giving you a taste of its ambience, treats to tickle the taste buds and an evening that will provide memories for a long time to come. You start your evening with a LucyCooktail poured at 6.30pm and unwind as you view the fabulous facilities, or relax on the balcony by the side of the River Kent. You will then be seated dinner party-style for the main event -- a demonstration of three fantastic dishes that will be your starter, main course and dessert for the evening. As you watch your menu prepared before your eyes, you will pick up lots of tips and be entertained by the antics of the chefs as they pull their recipe for presentation perfection together. Everyone will be able to see what's happening from the comfort of the large Aga kitchen, where a large plasma screen helps everyone get a good view. With wine, soft drinks and beer to accompany your meal this is an alternative dining out experience and one that always helps to demonstrate why time spent at LucyCooks is so special. When diners start to drift at around 9pm, you will be longing for more of LucyCooks and hopefully inspired to learn new skills in the kitchen thanks to this fabulous taster experience.
