Like its sister restaurant, the Buddha Lounge is beautifully presented and features an open-plan kitchen with a live TV feed. Specialist chefs have been imported from Thailand and China and there are two separate menus offering a range of a la carte dishes, set menus and plenty of vegetarian choices. Fusion Spice in Horwich that offers something unique to the area – Indian, Chinese and Thai fusion cooking. It’s spread over two floors with room for 50 diners plus a private dining room that can seat 10 and has its own TV. Fusion Spice’s Indian head chef has worked in hotels around the world for chains like Le Meridien, Holiday Inn and Taj Hotels and the menu includes dishes like Patiala Murg (minced chicken cooked with a distinct curry sauce, diced onion and capsicum) and Chandi Chicken (chunks of chicken soaked in a creamy yoghurt and cheddar marinade, bound with egg, flavoured with cardamom and gilded in the tandoor). The main menu changes twice a year and there are also banquet menus and a weekend specials board. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Monday to Saturday and from 12 noon to 11pm on Sundays. Fusion Spice also does event catering for up to 300 people.

This 60-cover traditional Chinese restaurant has a great-value buffet with a choice of more than 40 dishes, including Malaysian, Thai and Indian options. This South Shore restaurant is in one room, which also includes a bar and a Chinese wishing well. The Jade Delight is a former winner of the Blackpool Tourism award. There has been a Chinese restaurant on this spot for more than 20 years but a recent refurb has brought this venue bang up to date. Formerly Mr Chow's, it remains under the same ownership. The spacious restaurant comfortably seats 100 and is popular for business lunches Monday to Saturday as well as in the evenings seven nights a week. The Mandarin @ Lytham is the second restaurant for Blackpool’s famous Mandarin. The original has been going strong since 1961 but the new Mandarin is the brainchild of the present owner who has brought a new vibrancy to a very successful Chinese restaurant. The Mandarin @ Lytham is opposite Pizza Express and the square right in the heart of the town. The entrance is at ground level with the restaurant on the first floor. The interior has been painstakingly put together using original furnishings from 1930s Shanghai sourced direct from China. A fixture of the Lancaster dining scene since 2002, Miyabi is located opposite the bus station in the heart of the city. The restaurant has 80 covers for Teppanyaki dining offering a theatrical experience as well as satisfying health-conscious eaters and it would be hard to find anything healthier than Sushi. You select your choice of meat and vegetables to be cooked at the table, in front of you, on a special heated steel plate by a specially trained chef. There are also 30 covers offering traditional Chinese food. The Szechwan spicy special is particularly popular and they offer takeaway and free delivery of orders over £15. At one time a Little Chef, the Ocean Palace has been completely refurbished and has a large car park and comfortably seats 80 diners. The cuisine is drawn from all of China’s provinces but Cantonese is a speciality with an extensive seafood selection, set menus and special banquets, including vegetarian. The Red Lantern Chinese Restaurant is in the heart of Burnley, opposite the famous Bridge pub and next to the Charter Walk car park. There has been a Chinese restaurant here on this site for 20 years – it used to be known as The Regent – but new owners have changed the name and given it a complete refurb. They have a wealth of experience in the restaurant trade – they ran Manchester’s famous Charlie Chan’s in the 1970s -- and the food here is mainly Cantonese but with Szechuan and Thai specialities as well as low-calorie dishes. The entrance is at street level with the 60-cover restaurant down at basement level. The Red Lantern is open from 5pm-11pm six days a week, closed Tuesdays.
