Really tasty dishes - freshness of the salmon was unbelievable. Loads of cooked sushi options too which my partner chose as he doesn't like raw fish. Meal for 2 including sake was under 35 pounds which we thought was very good valued. Highly recommended!

Dissapointed Vegetarian

Not a good option if you are a vegetarian. The food I was served tasted of meat, and not of the original vegetables and other ingredients. Not a good choice if you are a real vegetarian. Feedback to Boujolais would be to spend a bit more time and clean the pans so clean of meat before cooking a vegetarian option. Restaurants shouldn't offer a veg option if they are not prepared to do it properly. Very disappointing. Not recommended.

Lovely food most of the time, but difficult to get an answer to the phone when trying to book which means that you end up wondering if you've got your table or not ! Waitress can be a bit too moody too, but they're always full, so must be doing something right !

We visited Zen a couple of weeks ago and they really have gone to town on the decor. A lot of money has been spent here on creating this establishment and they've done a pretty good job. My only concern with the venue itself are the very high ceilings. It's not particularly intimate and feels too big. The food however is very good quality and I for one really enjoyed it. it's not your normal Chinese restaurant, no Chow Mien on or anglo-chinese creations. Very authentic, good service (although a little bit too in your face at times - constantly topping up your water after a few sips is not really necessary!) I would go back again, but my partner found everything a little too spicy. One for the more adventurous. Would be a great place for a larger party.

Went to Prosecco last night with my sister. I used to live in Northern Italy and am reasonably knowledgeable about the regional cuisine. Was impressed with the food at Prosecco- we had the watermelon, mozzarella and black pepper starter and the balsamic asparagus with Parmesan- both delicious. My linguine with Cornish mussels and chili was wonderful, full of flavour and my sister asked to replace a gnocchi dish with the same sauce which they were happy to do. The place could do with doing a few more pasta dishes and is very small, we were quite cramped by a large table of 10 and couldn't here a word the waitress said! Food though excellent, request table by the window.

Bauhinia is my failsafe Clifton restaurant. Very reasonably priced food and great service in lovely surroundings with good music (count how many Bristol bands: tricky, massive attack, portishead etc!) I take all visiting friends to Bauhinia and they always love it. Lotus/ Lychee cocktails are a must, duck wraps and fishcakes are great and the choc firecrackers are delicious!

Went to the Star and Dove after watching Eamonn Fullalove (awesome name) host a food masterclass at the Food and Wine Fair. Went along to the pub which has a bar downstairs and the restaurant upstairs. Great food, great atmosphere, great wine!! Definitely going again.

Plantain Man

Plantation is simply out of this world. First high class Caribbean Restaurant in Bristol. It has an open kitchen. And, your meal is prepared right in front of your eyes. How cool is that? Personally, I am addicted to plantation's fried and baked plantains.. Did you know? Plantation Restaurant owners introduced the no-smoking ban long before the Government got round to implementing it. I remember a belly dancing show as part of a charity event at the restaurant. I actually felt being outside my own body. Which other place can provide you with such experiences. I hope you have similar experiences when you next visit the restaurant and write about them.. I recommend plantation as the only venue for your night out. Why not book your party.. This Restaurant has the space to host a large party.. Have your there and then write about it here..

Wonderful food and excellent service! Great, varied menu with a range of prices and value deals at certain times. We never tire of visiting Beefeater restaurants and are regulars at this one, which is our local. Highly recommended!

wicked pub/restaurant right on the edge of Victoria Park with a great beer garden. i found this little gem with my boyfriend, the interior is an eclectic mix of restored furniture and big cosy chairs. the food was fantastic, nothing over complicated just cooked so well. There was an upstairs restaurant too but didn't get a chance to go up and have a look so don't know what that was like, seemed busy though.

I've been going to Casamia since 2000. My wife and I have always found the service charming and friendly. The food offering has evolved steadily over the years, from the standard pizza and pasta plus steaks/chicken of your everyday "Italian" restaurant, to the kind of place that you'd be happy to find if you were looking for high-end fare in Milan or Naples. The service has remained friendly and welcoming (the owners are always in hand), with the food offered by chefs Jonray and Peter absolutely astounding. On more than one occasion (we get there about once a month) I have declared that I am no longer going to attempt to cook a specific dish - I can never hope to meet these levels of technical expertise. The food is now of Michelin-baiting quality. If you love food, and want to spend a relaxed evening enjoying an experience to remember, I wholeheartedly recommend Casamia (remember to book though). If you really want to spoil yourselves, go for the tasting menu. This was only available during the week when we had it, but is a wonderful treat.

The best ever food and service. I was taken to The Rickshaw last night by some friends as a treat for my birthday. It was second to none. The staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The manager was very helpful with recommendations from the menu, and the food was delicious. Compliments to the chef! I do hope this message is passed on to the Rickshaw. I was looking for their own website, which they do not appear to have. Whilst dining last night (12th July), the staff appeared with a birthday cake lit with candles, which made the evening very special. I would like to pass on my thanks for the lovely gesture. Also at that time, there were 3 gentlemen dining together, one of whom come over to me as they left to wish me a Happy Birthday....are all the locals as nice and friendly in Bruton?! I wish I'd had the chance to chat to him further! If anyone at The Rickshaw knows who he was, please pass on my email! Thank you again for a fantastic evening. Susan
