MIXED GRILL TO DIE FOR THE BEST !

We had a meal here to celebrate our wedding anniversary, the whole experience was amazing, service was excellent, food was mouth watering and well presented. We will certainly be visiting again.

Akbars has always been one of my favourite venues for a sit down curry. It's always busy, but seating rarely takes too long. In the past I've booked and I've just turned up. It doesn't seem to make much difference either way to the time from walking in to sitting down though. The food has always tasted exceptional and the family sized nans would outface even Homer Simpson. My only niggle with Akbars is that the last time I visited, on a Saturday evening last summer, I was sat on a table for two next to the kitchen door. Every time it opened there was a waft of sewerage. A bit of a put off.

A very good pub with good food, real Ale and an extensive wine list.

I visited this restaurant for the first time on a Saturday night as part of a group of 12 + for a special occassion. My food, from the fresh fruit starter, to Calzone Main and Ice Cream to finish was delicious and surprisingly everyone's meals came together. It worked out £30 per head splitting the bill - which was as predicted to my mother in law that morning! My only gripe was (and clearly they are victims of their own success) the place was packed. Though the menu states the dining area is non-smoking our entire non-smoking party was placed on a reserved table by the bar. So as the evening progressed gradually the space immediately behind us filled up with people waiting for tables and also coming from the restaurant to smoke. Delightful! By 9pm those with their backs to the bar area were having their chairs constantly knocked by people heading to the loos, the bar or just for a quick fag behind where we were eating. Be Prepared - book a table ... but make sure it is well away from the bar!

Excellent. You will not be disappointed.

Great menu and great blackboard of grills with a selection of locally sourced steaks, lamb and rare breed pork. Sunday lunch is also excellent here, probably the best for miles around, well kept real ales and lovely roaring fire in the bar was very welcoming.

Great food, service and restaurant. Of all the Thai restaurants I have eaten at this is the best. Very underrated.

Why has no one written a review about Sammys !..This is the best family run Indian restrant in West Yorkshire, I have been going here for nearly 20 years, the food is the best quality you will find. Friendly service although often very busy and unlicensed so you can bring your own booze...the best kept secret (until now!) in Heckmondwike....Very highly recommended !

The Landlord, landlady and staff make one feel very welcome, excellent value for money, will eat there on a regular basis!!!

After trying out the buffets in Leeds City Centre which were good value for money, we found this place which was more than that. The decor and ambience of the place was excellent. There is also another restaurant upstairs which looked posh but was actually moderate in price. The dessert section of the buffet was superb.

The meal was excellent. The overall price was average but we ordered a pork chop dish at £8 which was very good value for money. Loved the ambience of the restaurant, especially the smell (like Lemon grass). The staff were very friendly. Definitely would come back again. Looking forward to try the Manchester branch.

After accidentally coming across this wonderful local pub last Monday evening, we were very impressed with the friendly service of the waitresses and the bar manager, we all had different meals and a 2 bottles of there own wine called the old harrow, it really was top quality wine!...the chef actually came out to ask us if every thing was ok.. we had a very enjoyable evening and stayed on for the quiz night and would you believe it ...there was a massive free hot buffet, needless to say we were not that hungry after our meal but the locals really tucked in, in fact there was a mini stampede when the buffet was announced....what a good local to have in your village... we will be calling in again very soon!

me and my friends had a cocktail party at boutique a couple of weeks ago and we had soo much fun....the service was amazing, the music was cool and the cocktails were the best i have ever tasted!!!!!!!!!! they kept bringing fruit over to our table every time we ordered cocktails. love em x

had my 22nd birthday party there last saturday and it was brilliant!! best place for a private party anywhere. they dressed the place up and had candles everywhere. they made me a special cocktail and named it after me....you guys are awesome!!! thank you soo much xxx
