Stunning setting on the banks of the River Dee at Banchory. There were cosy fires when we went for afternoon tea. 3 tiered cake stands had scones with jam and cream, mini meringues, carrot cake, fruit cake and tray bakes. In the process of being upgraded by the new owners, so very excited to see the results. Definitely somewhere to take your visitors.

Had a meal there begining of the month. My son had the Scotch Egg to start, well over cooked or reheated (awful)My husband had the Moules Marinier to start which was okay. I had the roast beef dinner, one of the specials (I have done better myself and I'm no chef) I did ask for the welldone part of the roast, the meat was tough, and you really had to cut through. The yorkies certainly were not freshly made, must have been reheated or in the micro. The other mains were Monkfish Scampi (which was rather dry and the chips over cooked) and the Buffalo Chicken, (over cooked chips also)The three desserts were okay.At the end of the main course the waitress asked how our meal was. I told her I was disappointed with the beef and yorkies, on her return (after a word with the chef) she said the beef was tough because I had asked for the well done part. SO IT WAS MY FAULT! Really. Our bill for food £67.19. Which I don't grudge, if I can walk out and say, well that was worth every penny.Sorry Mains we will vote with our feet and won't be back.

My wife and I had lunch with David Irvine of Drum Castle in July of this year. On the wall was a winter scene of Drum Castle. I would love to have a Copy of that Print. I am collecting prints of Drum and would like to add that one to my collection. Could you contact the lady that painted it with this information and get back or have her get back to me? We really enjoyed our visit with David and more enjoyed our lunch at Irvine Arms.

After a hard day's work, my friend and I decided to head to the wild boar for a glass of vino having been told it has recently been refurbished. Well... what a surprise we got to discover that everything (including the staircase) had been turned around!!! We ended up staying for more than a few glasses and had a lovely pub dinner. We had some great banter with the staff who were all very friendly. All in all, a very successful evening - I would think they'll be seeing much more of us from now on!!!

The Bay Fish and Chips on the Beach Promenade holds a Fish and Chip Quality Award from the National Federation of Fish Friers. It is one of only a handful of shops around the country to have this award. You can be confident of the quality of the product and the service at this shop

Visited Mi Amore for the first time on Saturday for lunch. It was exceptionally good value for money at £6.95 for 2 courses and there was a lot to choose from on the menu. Very friendly staff. The evening menu looks good too.

Myself, friends and family have been here many times since it 1st opened last year & I can honestly say we have never had a bad meal! The owner is just fantastic, so welcoming! We quite often take our 2 children at lunch time and they are so accommodating & at £6.95 for a 2 course meal you can't go wrong! The only complaint I have is that now it has such a great reputation, we can't get a table as easily any more!! Fantastic food, wonderful service, can't rate it highly enough!

Visited Mi Amore recently after being recommended to me. Food was delicious, the service was warm and friendly. The menu is fairly priced as well compared to other places. I'm so pleased to have found this hidden gem as I love my Italian food, and this is the best I've had. Definitely recommend!!!
