The Plough Inn – Alfreton5 star
The Plough Inn – AlfretonAbsolutely fantastic service, great price and our meals were amazing. Incredibly tasty and very hot. Can’t wait for my next visit.
The Plough Inn – AlfretonAmazing food, great staff
The Plough Inn – AlfretonFood portions were huge, and food was delicious. Service however was very slow - both taking our food order, and bringing our food. We waited an hour for our food. Their reason was because there was a big table requiring service same time as us.
The Plough Inn – AlfretonVisit 23rd Sep 2023 We use to visit this venue a few years back and always had good food. Then new owners and it went down hill. Fortunately the newest owners have taken it back up the scale, the food was excellent and decent size portions. The staff are friendly and helpful. Will definitely be returning . Only criticism was lack of lighting on leaving the premises to the car park.
The Plough Inn – AlfretonMy son and I had a lovely meal at The Plough last night. We received friendly service, our table was ready, and we enjoyed good food. Thank you
The Plough Inn – AlfretonExcellent meal, we went on steak night and everything was perfect.
The Plough Inn – AlfretonExcellent food and service. Staff could not be more polite or do enough for you. Definitely will return here when next in area.
The Plough Inn – AlfretonFood was huge. We were told no veg comes with the roast so we ordered sides but realised there was veg that came with this and ended up having too much food leftover which was a bit wasteful. My friend had a huge chicken - half or bigger on the bone which was not specified on the menu. Overall, staff were polite and friendly but a shame about the wastefulness. I would have also liked for things to have been cooked for a bit longer e.g my beef. I wish we could have been refunded for the veg though.
The Plough Inn – AlfretonGreat food and well priced. The staff were very attentive and obviously enjoyed their job as they were always smiling and polite.

The Plough Inn – AlfretonGreat food and friendly service. Massive portions! Lovely quiet and relaxed atmosphere
The Plough Inn – AlfretonBooking for 4. Sunday lunch and pizzas were delicious, but small plates could do with a bit more attention to detail. Busy restaurant and great service.
The Plough Inn – AlfretonFood was nice but disappointing to have no steaks or pizzas available on a Saturday night
The Plough Inn – AlfretonMet up with friends for steak night. Great food, good portions and super service. What’s not to like? Looking forward to trying out the Sunday lunch soon.
The Plough Inn – AlfretonThe staff here are incredible!! An incident occurred while we were here (out of their control) staff explained reasons for delays. Loved that the staff were basic life support trained and happy to use their knowledge. Very welcoming and accommodating. Atmosphere of pub is great. We went on steak night and everything was 10/10. Perfectly cooked steaks, good portion sizes. Honestly couldn’t recommend here enough!
The Plough Inn – AlfretonLate midweek lunch for two, lovely venue both in terms of location and property with plenty of outside seating as well as different internal dining areas. Polite and professional bar staff. It was quiet when we booked for a late lunch at 3pm, menu offerings were a good selection and we ordered a shared starter of belly pork bites from the small plates, crispy and juicy and tasty. Served 4 pieces . Mains chosen were: Double Plough burger with new potato chips/fries excellent homemade burger and very tasty fries. I chose: Beef short ribs with mash and veg. -Meat fell off the bone, extremely tender, flavoursome and good portion size. Husband, usually a Guinness drinker chose the black stout which he thoroughly enjoyed. Overall with £5 tip came to just under £60. Slightly more than usually pay for a lunch, but couldn’t fault the food, ambiance, service or location. Felt good value and will go back.
