Excellent in every respect 10/10. Visited without booking Friday 28/1/11, very busy but managed to sort a table. Very much like a small family restaurant you would find in Italy (Sicilian though) The staff were very good, the chef came out to ask if all was ok. The food was excellent. Dine in many places in the area of Cheshire, plus Manchester, Lancashire etc Farina is worth a visit, Book in advance as this place is going to be popular.

Went to the Double Tree on the Sunday night between Xmas and New Year - most other places shut. Had an excellent meal for all 5 of us. Well presented, clean and modern style, backed up by great service and reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend this to anyone

Everything I wanted - and more. The food was fabulous - the risotto with fillet steak was mouthwateringly succulent and full of subtle flavours. The pizza bread with garlic and rosemary - simple but delicious. Whitebait was perfect - so many places serve it over fried and greasy - this was exquisite. Portions are generous! The staff are delightfully friendly and attentive without being overbearing. They checked if we needed a break between each course. Whilst the restaurant was rapidly filling as we ate, we never felt rushed. We were treated like guests in someones home. Children in the restaurant were treated equally well. I was impressed how the staff engaged them as well as the adults. The evening set menu was also great value for money. One of us had the set menu whilst the other went off the a la carte. Both of us felt we had had value for money in terms of superb food, friendly atmosphere and superb service. What more could you ask from a restaurant? Go try it. Don't wait for a special occasion. A visit to this restaurant will turn an ordinary weekday evening into a special occasion.

We have eaten at Farina on many occasions (last time the night before New Years Eve 2010) and have always found the staff very friendly, knowledgeable and the menu choice (including extra wall-board items) varied and excellent. Prices are acceptable for a quality restaurant and the house wine most acceptable by glass or bottle. I recommend this restaurant.

I had a meal at the Double Tree couple of days after the official opening, I must say I was very pleased with the food and service 10/10 The interior was very colourful, and the restaurant had a nice warm atmosphere. I would recommend the Double Tree Restaurant to anybody who likes good traditional Indian food.

My sister and her husband invited us to Double Tree as a Christmas treat.... and treat it was! This is a swish stylish neighbourhood restaurant with modern decor comfortable chairs and Villeroy & Boch tableware. Traditional dishes sit along side the contemporary ,all vibrantly flavoured and attractively presented by charming, friendly and skilled staff. Watch out Dilli !!!! This newcomer is dedicated to offering value for money. we loved it and will be back with more friends.Try the Bengal Haandi and Granny style lamb madras yum!

Ate at the double tree last week, a few days after it first opened. the food was excellent and the service was very attentive and staff were very helpful. They were very obliging when I asked for dishes to be less spicy. The surroundings were sophisticated and loved the crockery and cutlery. I would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys Indian food.

We visited the Double Tree this Saturday following a recommendation from my parents. We were not disappointed, the food was delicious, tasted very fresh and not at all greasy. It was also great value for money. The staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. The decor is beautiful throughout (even in the toilets!). We will definitely be returning soon.

My wife and I thought we'd have a treat by going here to enjoy the supposedly great food. We dropped in at eight thirty the prime time for good eating. The best we can say about our experience is that the restaurant recognised their failings and didn't charge us a penny. Now the food... have you ever been served rare duct on a bed of fresh fruit salad? It was was like having the main course and dessert in one, what is all that about? My wife's steak would please Pythagoras in it's perfect square dimensions and it was supposed to be a rib eye. I have never been so insulted in all my life as a restaurant goer to be fed this badly. Let me remind you. duck and fresh fruit salad! Where was the cream??

Just got back from the Swan with Two Nicks where we had a shocking experience. We ordered our food, waited, waited, after 45 minutes enquired as to where our food was. We had young children with us, who were starving and bored by this time. We were told our order had been lost, not just forgotten but lost. They retook our order, and brought us some bread to keep the kids going. The bread was dotted with mould, so that went back. When the food finally arrived, the venison steak was dry and tough, the chips were undercooked and tasteless, the veggies over cooked... They knocked a kids meal off the bill, but we still paid over £30 for 2 poor main courses and a drink each. It used to be a great pub, we won't be going again.

The best cafe ever - presentation of food is like a Michelin star resto but not with prices to match - best of all worlds! The Italian items are wonderful - they ought to have some sort of star so I'll give them 5. This is a must if you are ever in Altrincham.

The Gonbay is a wonderful restaurant and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The staff are extremely friendly and always welcoming, nothing is to much trouble for them. The food is delicious and never disappointing, always fresh, hot and mouth watering. Its a place for families and for all occasions.

I had to arrange a funeral reception at short notice and Ann at The Swan was able to accommodate our requirements. We were given the use of the restaurant area for as long as we wanted and a hot buffet was provided with two main choices and two desserts. The helpings were generous and the food was all home made and tasted excellent. The vegetables were fresh. The staff were very friendly and efficient and I cannot thank them enough.

Just returned from Francs restaurant in Altrincham. We were taken their by friends. The cheaper fixed price menu is good value compared to other restaurants. I chose the bon marche deal but would have been as well choosing the cheaper menu ( Oh well they were paying!) As a very keen cook myself I like value for money and something I would not make myself. The pastry basket holding the seafood cocktail was deliciously light and crisp. I spent the time eating wondering how it had been made. I found out that they are bought in from a wholesale place. I knew that the ginger baskets holding the fruit salad tasted exactly the same as those I have bought from Lidl and Aldi. I always have them in...a cheap and cheerful buy and they look posh on the table./ I ordered the chicken with the coconut and lime ....don't know where the coconut was and the lime must have been wafted over somewhere. Anyway the topping was nice but then....the rest...the usual bland chicken breast. Jamie Oliver eat your heart out. Of course the plate looked nice with all the salad bits and pieces. I am comparing Francs with other places so for the cheaper fixed price...a good value meal in lively surroundings. I wouldn't bother going for the more expensive menu when we go again...as we will be for someone's birthday ( his wife can't cook and he goes no further than a boiled potato with chopped up corned beef with bisto onion gravy....and why not....it's tasty! Yes I have enjoyed my night out at Francs and I didn't have words with my husband asking me how much is a packet of lentils and a slice of black pudding when I go to Bury Market. Who says there is no money about...take a look around the clientele in Francs.....half a weeks wages for some people by the time they've finished. Shut up woman only takes two glasses of wine for you to start.

Went here for the 1st time on New Years Eve, it was significantly cheaper than its neighbouring restaurants in Hale so I was slightly dubious about the food, however I had nothing to worry about. The food is possibly some of the nicest Chinese food I've had. Light and fluffy, fresh fragant flavours. The staff we also very attentive, cheery and relaxed and happy to chat. I will definitely go here again and will be happy to take visiting friends and family.
