We had Sunday lunch and it was lovely. Clearly prepared and cooked on the premises as opposed to the emerging trend of buying food in. The service complimented the food as the staff were excellent. They were very friendly and appeared happy in their work which always rubs off on customers to give an overall pleasant experience. Also it was nice to see local people being employed in the service industry. Someone running this pub has got is sussed. We’ll done all.

Warm, welcoming and simply wonderful food, would 100% recommend! Very dog friendly, nice secluded tables and friendly, efficient staff. Pub food at its absolute best, great selection and all absolutely delicious.

Very disappointing meal on New Year’s Day. Food was cold and tasteless.There was a group of us and we had pre booked and weren’t even in the restaurant but we’re seated in what felt like a waiting area at the front door. Every time the door opened there was a cold wind blowing over us and we had to keep closing the door. We had to keep going to find staff to get drinjs etc. we have been to the main restaurant before and it was lovely but it was completely different on New Year’s Day which was very disappointing.

We had a lovely meal on ‘New Years Day.’ I had the steak pie which was full of flavour and very good. My husband had a Sunday dinner which cane with a rather dark coloured Yorkshire Pudding so he asked for a better one which was brought to the table atraight away and was much better. He did say the roast potatoes were a bit hard and had possibly been cooked a long time before we ate. It was 6.30 pm when we ate. We shared a trifle which was lovely. The staff were very friendly and attentive and were bery busy but still had time to chat with us and make a fuss of our dog!

We had a lovely lunch here on Bank Holiday Monday. The service was exceptional, nothing was a bother (and we had three dogs with us). The Gluten Free Battered Fish and Chips was absolutely delicious, possibly the best Ive had. My husband had the Halibut which was also delicious (if a little pricey) as was the chestnut roast. Would highly recommend.

Fabulous service, food hot, tasty and well cooked. Good selection of food. We both had fish that was obviously fresh, and very white! The chicken liver parfait could have done with another slice of bread but still lovely. We stayed at the Apple Inn and found the rooms very well presented, clean and comfortable.

We had a big family gathering (16 in total) over Christmas and included a meal at Apple Inn. Very responsive to our booking request. Diligent in dealing with one of our parties many allergies. Service was excellent and the food enjoyed by everyone. I have never seen such well presented children’s meals as we got on our visit. We will be sure to return here next time we visit Northumberland. Keep up the good work.

Fab pub serving fantastic food. Recommended by the cottage we were staying in at Budle Bay and didn’t disappoint. I had the chestnut roast and my husband had the beef dinner, absolutely delicious. Dog friendly too. Staff very friendly.

We enjoyed our New Year's Day lunch very much indeed. The vegetarian chestnut roast was absolutely delicious and This we followed by Christmas pudding. Service was execellent and the overall atmosphere very good indeed.

We ate here on New Year’s Day, asked the waiter for recommendations and he said the game pie was amazing and he definitely wasn’t lien. I can honestly say it was the best poe I have ever ate. The rest of my family lives there food also as well as the atmosphere itself. The staff couldn’t be more helpful we can’t wait to go back.

Another lovely evening spent in this very welcoming pub. Food is of high quality and fresh. Drinks also very good. Very clean and pleasant surroundings and staff can’t do enough to help. Would highly recommend.

Really friendly staff. The burger was disappointing, the bun and meat were very burnt. The fries tasted like battered fish also.

Yup pretty good. Friendly staff. Food good although kids pancake with Nutella and marshmallows was a bit sickly so choose wisely! Cooked breakfast was lovely and tea arrived hot which is always a bonus. Would return.

Really impressed. Good venue. Friendly staff. I asked to move tables as was put next to toilets and manager was very accommodating. Food was impressive. Portion sizes good. Kids happy so that’s always a bonus. The fish and chips was great as was the burger. Only reason I didn’t give it full marks was that it lacked a little atmosphere. Just needs some nice music in the background!

A great dining experience. From the friendly attentive staff to the excellent quality food, we had such a lovely time. It is a shame we are not local but will definitely return on our next visit to the area. Would highly recommend.
