Bart

As it is Beaujolais Nouveau time I couldn't resist popping in here for lunch last week. Nouveau was everywhere and not a bad little drop of wine this year. The airy restaurant had a good amount of people animatedly chatting. The set lunch was £10 I opted for a really tasty pheasant breast which came with mash and a port wine sauce and honey roast veg. To finish I had a delicious Brulee. I met the owner who is a real personality and enjoyed talking wine with him. Great atmosphere.

I had lunch here on a Wednesday, it was packed full of what I was later told Matinee viewers. They managed to fit me in downstairs where the atmosphere was bubbly and warm. The set two course lunch for £10 offered a good choice, I opted for the red pepper soup which was rich and thick and came with a large basket of a choice of fresh breads, to finish I had the Boeuf Bourguignon which was very tasty indeed and came with a choice of new pots or rice. No room for dessert, I left replete. Will go again as I would like to try the evening.

A beautiful location by the river. The food was really tasty and the service very friendly.

I have heard a lot about this restaurant and was not disappointed when I got there. I had the half chicken with herbed new potatoes, it was delicious. The deserts were also to the same very high standard I would recommend this place to anyone if you want something a little different. The only thing I will say, due to its open plan layout there is a breeze from the windows and doors so wear a jumper!

Good authentic food and friendly but unobtrusive service. Very nice setting.Managed to fit us in even though we had not booked on a busy night, but would advise booking.

Thai Balcony – Bath

Having visited Thailand, this was the nearest we have found to a 'local' experience. The surroundings are lovely, being in a semi-circular room adds to a cosy and friendly ambience. The service is as friendly as you would expect in Thailand (the land of smiles) and very helpful for those who are not so sure what they would like to eat. We would highly recommend a visit here (and they sell sticky rice!!!!), However, expect to book because it is very popular. Enjoy your experience!

Adventure Cafe

Great café, my favourite place to go in Bath. Worth going in just to view the staff!

Demuths

You just can't beat Demuths for vegetarian food in the south west if not the UK - it's loved by non-vegetarians just as much. It's by far the best vegetarian restaurant I've been to. They have lots of vegan and gluten free options too. Make sure you book if you're going for the evening on a weekend!

Bathwick Boatman Restaurant

My family dine here 7 or 8 times a year. The food is always nice and frequently very good. The portions, it must be said, are large and more than ample. The restaurant is run by the owners Phil and Karen Chant and consequently has a warm and friendly ambiance. Sunday lunches are excellent and very busy, so reserving a table for lunch is imperative. There is a nice veranda, which over looks the River Avon, and it is possible to dine on the veranda during the summer and autumn.

Rajpoot Tandoori

Downstairs to a converted cellar. Good ethnic Indian decoration. Cosy areas to sit with a small bar near the entrance. Unusual range of Indian and Bangladesh regional dishes not often found outside London. The tandoori breads were excellent. Wonderful glass of lassie. Service attentive but unobtrusive.

Firehouse Rotisserie

Went for lunch whilst on business in Bath. The restaurant was very busy with workers and shoppers, it had a great atmosphere and the smell of the basted chickens spit roasting was enough to send my appetite into overdrive. I had chicken and fries and it was excellent. I only wish we had one where I live in Exeter. It would be the busiest restaurant in town.
