This restaurant was recommended to myself when i was staying around the corner in the Crowne Plaza. So the first visit was just a matter of convenience but since trying this wonderful friendly restaurant with an unbelievable variety in food. We have now made coming and staying in Birmingham quite popular with ourselves and friends

Recently my wife and I visited Itihaas, as a regular curry goer I thought I had tried almost every thing but Itihaas surprised me to no end. Food was fantastic decor excellent. For me the best in the UK!!

This restaurant is perfect for a romantic night out or for a group meal. We went as a group of six and after drinks in the gorgeous bar area with an amazing crusteacea bar, were shown to a lovely table. Fantastic service - never intrusive but always anticipating our next wish, and the food is beautiful - excellently presented and imaginative without being overwhelmingly fussy.

I chose to dine at Locanta as it is advertised in the Yellow Pages as a Turkish/Mediterranean restaurant. As my partner is Turkish I thought we should try it. I found the staff to be friendly, helpful & were delighted to be able to converse in Turkish with a customer. The food was of a high standard with an extremely varied menu including, italian & greek food. This restaurant is well worth a try whatever your tastes.

The Berlioz restaurant is in the Burlington Hotel in New Street, Birmingham (formerly the Midland Hotel). The three course £23 house menu provides reasonable value. Staff were very professional yet friendly. The restaurant is all no smoking though the bar next door does allow it and drifting smoke can be a problem.

I cannot rave about Opus enough! My partner and I went there for Friday night. Opus offers diners a fascinating insight into the possible combination of new flavours and quality ingredients. Subtlety and refinement are the two words that best describe this modern British cuisine. The service is warm and friendly with all staff members having excellent food and wine knowledge. The atmosphere of the dining area is sophisticated with tables well spaced for privacy! Yes, the restaurant does worth every penny...this had been a classy dining out experience!

Impressively bustling with an almost production line efficiency of turnaround...made me tired just watching the waiters preparing tables as soon as they emptied. Faultless array of food - upto fifty dishes at lunchtime - and the quality is surprisingly high for the Chinese buffet style. Chinese beer by the bottle and a good selection of wines and spirits. Handy for New Street station to waddle back to for the train home!

Hello, I had recently had the pleasure of visiting itihaas restaurant and i was very amazed and taken-back by my experience. the quality of service and the foods is absolutely breath-taking, might i add the beautiful deco added is excellent. My favourite dish was the makhani murgh and salmon ka tukrah. it is far the best Indian restaurant in the UK, and would urge people fond of Indian cuisine to try and 'taste the passion' itihaas has to offer.

The atmosphere at Athens is just incredible; it? the place to go if you want a good laugh! The staff are friendly.... very entertaining and join in on the party themselves! Being at Athens is literally like being at a party! The food was quite good but not as good as I? been told and it? quite pricey but nothing people couldn't afford.

I visited Zagora recently, early evening mid-week, on the recommendation of a friend. I wanted to see for myself before arranging a group booking with colleagues from work. Not many people seem to know about this superb restaurant yet - probably because it is hidden away in Fletcher's Walk. My husband and I were the first customers that night, a group of 4 arrived a little later, and a large group was due as we left. The interior is fantastic: comfortable couches and cushions arranged around the walls: typically Moroccan, as are the furnishings and decorative items - in the colours of the Moroccan flag. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. A plate of mixed olives was served while we chose from the menu: Harira soup (better than I have ever tasted) and Moroccan salad as starters - served with plenty of warm and crusty bread; lamb tagines for the main course - Zagora (tender and sweet with prunes) and Casablanca (equally tender, with mixed vegetables). We could not manage desserts, but ordered mint tea and were offered delicious pastries with this. Soft drinks are available with the meal - you need to take your own wine if required. I have rated ambience as Good rather than Outstanding simply because the restaurant was quite empty when I was there. I am certain that once more people know about it it will be so popular that booking in advance will be essential. I am very pleased to be arranging a party at Zagora in the near future and highly recommend this restaurant.

A brilliant place to go and eat. I have been there a few times and am planning to go back next week as I feel it is the best place to eat in Birmingham.

Having tried numerous Chinese restaurants in both London and Birmingham during the 3 years I've been in the UK, I dare say that Chung Ying Garden ranks amongst the best in the country. In fact the quality of its dishes even surpasses that of many restaurants in Hong Kong! It is authentically Chinese/Cantonese and I highly recommend the prawn dumpling soup, roast duck (even better than the famous 'Four Seasons' Roast Duck at Bayswater, London), sweet and sour pork (crispy with an excellent sauce unlike most restaurants who do injustice to this dish) and Pi Pa Tofu with Seafood. Simply put, the cuisine here is exceptional, and this is really something considering my fussy palate. The restaurant also has a well stocked bar which makes it very popular with my British friends. Prices may be slightly higher than other small Chinese restaurants, but the quality of the food more than makes up for it. It is also good value for money if you go with a group and share the food, which comes in generous quantities.

This restaurant represents excellent value for money and we enjoyed everything about it. The location is fab, the waiters cool and sophisticated and the food simple, efficient, beautifully presented and delicious. I would recommend it to anyone for lunch, or dinner. The pre-theatre menu is also a great idea.

Excellent food and very authentic decor. Place for special days. Not the usual curry house. Place to impress the other half.

Really good atmosphere, food not too good, and quite pricey.

Wagamama

A typical wagamama. The food was as any other wagamama, pretty good and plentiful. The dyoza etc were excellent and the ramman and noodles good. This is the same as every other wagamama I?e been into although I will say the service was better than most. It was exceptionally clean and the ambience good. A standard wagamama, if you like the chain you will like this.
