New AA Rosettes Awarded

22 Jan 2018
News

The AA has unveiled its latest round of AA rosette awards with the headlines going to Moor Hall Restaurant with Rooms in west Lancashire. It was the only venue to be awarded four AA rosettes (‘among the top restaurants in the UK, where the cooking demands national recognition’). Eight restaurants were awarded three AA rosettes (‘outstanding restaurants that achieve standards that demand recognition well beyond their local area’).

It’s been a successful six months for Moor Hall and chef-patron Mark Birchall, to say the least. It was only in September 2017 that they received a third AA rosette and that was quickly followed by a Michelin star and the opening of The Barn, a casual dining venue to complement the main restaurant at Moor Hall. Stephen Wilkinson, Area Manager at AA Hotel & Hospitality Services says, “Moor Hall Restaurant with Rooms has achieved so much in a short space of time.  This would not have been possible without the careful planning prior to opening.  Mark’s food continues to evolve but the focus has always been on balance and clarity of flavour whilst sourcing the best core ingredients. The team has an impressive kitchen garden which is a key resource for many dishes”.
