Peaky Blinders, Manchester – 1920s Speakeasy

11 Jan 2019
Openings

After a stunning renovation, the old Sakana site on Peter Street has been completely transformed into a grand, 1920s speakeasy-style drinking hall complete with a huge bar, plush leather booths, beautiful wall murals depicting characters from the show, art deco light fittings and a big balcony live music stage overlooking the whole venue.

The bar, restaurant and live music venue is, of course, inspired by the Peaky Blinders TV series and the whole era from which the show takes its name. Peaky Blinders Manchester incorporates plenty of key elements from the show including character stills and décor and guests will be greeted by hosts in Peaky Blinders period uniforms, who will ensure that you feel part of the experience from the off. Beeris served in tankards and gorgeous, expertly created cocktails inspired by the show are served in vintage glassware, alongside contemporary favourites too.

Food comes courtesy of Ocean Treasure owner Simon Yip (part of the established Chi Yip supermarket and wholesale group) and his acclaimed Chinese cuisine is served upstairs in the restaurant with a beautiful menu of small plate Dim Sum available for customers who wish to dine downstairs in the bar. Live music provides a grand party soundtrack to the proceedings from Thursday to Sunday, brought to the magnificent Peaky Blinders stage by some of Manchester’s finest local, independent artists and DJs including Izzy Walsh, The Lucy Mae Trio and Will Tramp. Peaky Blinders is open from 12noon until 2am daily.
