What can we say just excellent

Superb food and service, as always

Excellent food and wine. A gem of a place!

Lively atmosphere and food that was closer to genuine Italian restaurant than any other I have had in Cambridge. Staff were lovely. It was a bit loud though and did make me consider returning.

Great fun good food and a fair price

It was my wife's 73rd birthday and I was going to surprise her with a family party at a restaurant, that we had passed often and never tried. La Pergola at Harlton, just off the A603. As the date approached I became very nervous, my surprises often turn into disasters. Came her birthday and none of the grandchildren had mentioned the surprise. The two of us set off, supposedly, going to Letchworth, a little further on the A 603 for tea and a cake at a cafe there. I was still very anxious, would the others be there as arranged, would they find La Pergola and would it be worth finding. I need not have worried, we turned off the A 603, with my wife accepting my explanation of a change of plan and arrived at La Pergola. It looked all the more delightful from this side of the road. There was lots of parking space and as we walked to the entrance two other customers, also arrived, and on hearing it was our first time gave the restaurant a glowing recommendation. As my wife entered La Pergola our party and all of the other customers and the staff broke into singing " Happy Birthday" to her. By now both my wife and I were in tears. My wife with emotion and me with relief. The restaurant inside was a delight and we thought, we had somehow been, transported to Italy. Our table of 8 consisted of ages ranging for 12 to 80 years, the food, Italian, was wonderful and there was something for everyone's taste. The staff were friendly, kind and knowledgeable. At the halfway point of our meal, led by the staff everyone there, again started singing "Happy Birthday" as a birthday cake was ceremoniously carried to my wife for her to blow out the candles. As we were leaving, customers and staff spoke to, congratulated and kissed my wife. She said it was her best birthday ever. I was congratulated all round by my choice of venue. Quite undeserved, as it was La Pergola, who deserved all of the credit. I hesitate to make this recommendation as, I fear it might become too popular and busy for us to get a table, for our next visit. But, if you want to give someone special, the best birthday of their life La Pergola is the place to go.

We went to La Pergola for the second time in a month. The meal was every bit as good as on the first occasion and we will certainly go there again in the future.

A fantastic dinning experiance with happy staff, an bustling atmosphere and great tasting food. The menu has the usual favorates but it also has a great selection of specials to keep enticing me back.

As a fellow Italian and had been recommended by another Italian I was slightly disappointed with the meal The pasta dish was below par and don't understand why there was parsley on it as a garnish pizza was okay and the fritta di pesce could have been of better quality for the cost and the decor could do with updating too If you need my assistance and any advice please don’t hesitate to contact me Regards Tony

We had yet another fabulous Sunday lunch at la Pergola yesterday 1/9/24. There is no where around that provides such consistency in my humble opinion. The food is always absolutely delicious, served hot every time and exceptional value for money ! Great staff, so warm, friendly & professional with a constant smile and nothing is ever too much trouble. The restaurant is run by a wonderful family for the past 17th years which says it all and I cannot think of anywhere I love more in Cambridgeshire!

Visited for dinner on 31/8/24 and whilst we have been many times before this time we were disappointed. Food was excellent as always but the service was shocking - waited half an hour for drinks, first bottle of red was not drinkable so ordered a different bottle which didn’t arrive until our main course and without fresh glasses. Disappointing.

My wife and myself had a meal at la pergola this Saturday . What a a way to enjoy a weekend, the restaurant is so full of atmosphere you could easily imagine you are dining in Italy , couple that with excellent food and really friendly staff , would be very hard to improve on .

Great atmosphere, amazing food. It’s always so busy so be patient if the staff are overstretched. Well worth a visit, been many times .

Beautiful place, very homely, the food was so good and the stuff very attentive.
