Somethings Cooking – HaverfordwestI had NEVER sent food back before I visited here for lunch with friends. I was met with what I would consider to be a very hostile attitude and was told they would only refund half of what I'd paid for my food. Having worked as a waitress in the past, I tried my best to apologise to the staff for asking for my money back and was given an earful by the waitress who said I only sent the food back because of my "personal preference" for a sandwich that was quite obviously not piri piri, rather mayonnaise with huge grains back pepper, which I found very uncomfortable to eat as they were actually scratching the inside of my mouth. Absolutely disgusted and would advise anyone looking to eat here to find somewhere else.
Friars Vaults – HaverfordwestWe absolutely ADORE the Farmers Arms! The Choice of Ales is second to none, the food is incredible and unbelievably good value, the toilets are nice and clean and well maintained and the Management and Staff are just brilliant! Definitely our favourite Pub in North Pembrokeshire if not the entire County! You're a stranger there BUT ONCE! Fabulous!!!
Farmers Arms, The – HaverfordwestI found this pub whilst working at the local MOD housing estate 2.5 miles down the road. The food was exceptional and some of the best home cooked food I have come across and was great value for money, whenever I'm working or on holiday nearby I always call by. I would happily recommend the pub to anyone.
Ye Olde Inn – HaverfordwestFantastic cuisine and service - outstanding restaurant
Taj Mahal Indian Restaurant – Haverfordwest"The pub looked nice, the menu looked nice but... Oh dear! the food was disgusting. I had filo leek tart with jacket potato. The pastry was a solid greasy lump (hard to do with filo pastry) and the jacket pot was stone cold in the middle. It seems to me a great tragedy that someone employed as a "chef" a) cant be bothered to put a few spuds in the oven when s/he gets to work, and has to microwave cold ones, b) has so little knowledge of cookery that they are unable to reheat said a potato in a microwave efficiently. ALSO we asked if it was possible to have some salad dressing. We were brought a milk jug full of vegetable oil, nothing else just oil. Suffice to say I wont be eating there again! "
The Bristol Trader – HaverfordwestExcellent Sunday lunch - vast portions, we had beef and lamb, both were very good, plus a huge bowl of cauliflower cheese and another bowl of veg. All good quality ingredients, which the landlord is keen to source locally. A nice touch was the landlord came out to ask us if we had enjoyed our meal. Highly recommended.
Fishguard Arms – Haverfordwestthe food at this county pub was lovely, i enjoyed every mouthful of my mix grill, would recommend for a nice meal and warm welcome
The Corner Piece Inn – Haverfordwestloved the food, great atmosphere, very friendly staff. July 2009
Ye Olde Inn – HaverfordwestWe would like to have enjoyed an afternoon coffee and a dessert, only we were turned away for having our two young girls with us, 3 and 5, as "children are not allowed unless they take a full meal". Never heard anything less friendly and rude! Nice coffee shop over the road, pleased we went there instead.
Friars Vaults – HaverfordwestI used to eat regularly at the Georges and was always impressed, unfortunatly epathy has obviously set in at the restaurant and my last visit there will remain my last! The fish pie was obviously microwaved and done so for far too long, it was mainly potatoes and a few prawns in a tasteless sauce, very disappointing. I was with 9 other friends and although we had a good time we all agreed that the food was very much below the usual standard, also the service was poor and we were not checked on once after the meals were unceremoniously delivered. There are very few good places to eat in Haverfordwest and it is a shame that the Georges has given up in trying to raise the bar
Georges Restaurant and Cafe Bar, The – HaverfordwestThe finest authentic faggots peas and chips in wales
Tafarn Sinc Preseli – HaverfordwestGood home cooked food, very friendly atmosphere well done Kevin and Mandy - will be back soon. Marion
Ye Olde Inn – HaverfordwestDo not go anywhere near this place
Tafarn Sinc Preseli – HaverfordwestHow can I recommend a restaurant that trades on its "reputation" yet treats its customers with cool contempt? Althouh we had pre-booked we were shoved away out of sight out of mind in a draughty end room. We probably had the "b" team as it was lunch-time (Aug 17th) but what hard work it was extracting a wine list, the correct cutlery, even obtaining the correct order! To be fair - my sea- food pasta was wonderful but my wife's crab salad was a deplorable mess. Part thawed crab meat (still thawing water into the salad) badly dressed meat ( full of shell ) and tired salad leaves. I had a terrible experience here about three years ago so thought "it must have improved" by now recommended it to friends ( they paid so I couldn't complain). Well it hasn't improved- its a horrid place where "attitude" rules.
