Sunday lunch with 8 adults and 2 children . Absolutely fantastic . Staff so friendly and patient . Food really good and would definitely recommend. We will definitely be back .

We came as a party of 4 on 26th September for our first visit to your establishment and we were very impressed the waitresses were amazing in making us feel welcome the food was delicious and being in hospitality myself the job we do is very challenging on times we throughly enjoyed our visit with you and will be returning thank you team ship xx

Five of us had a Sunday roast and couldn't fault it. Food was lovely and the staff were brilliant. Would highly recommend.

We recently had a meal at the Ship Inn and thoroughly enjoyed it. The meals arrived quickly, were very tasty and plentiful. In addition the service was friendly and we were made to feel very welcome. Highly recommend.

We attended yesterday for a traditional Sunday lunch as we thought it would be nice for a change also a nice break from my wife spending her morning cooking. We were greeted by a member of staff who was extremely polite and friendly. We were talked to our table we were than asked if we needed anything to drink orders were taken and we were served our food promptly a minimum waiting time very impressive service. Our food was excellent well presented and plenty of food it was very good. We finished off by having home made profiteroles that were fantastic. Thank you very much the whole team were amazing.

I have been fortunate enough to visit Alfreds as part of a band and the atmosphere was so good. Returned there to have a meal with my family.

Chinese was spot on, Ming the head chef is an absolute header mind!

Great food had to wait but I hadn't booked. One niggle it was to hot in there!

I love the bunch of Grapes! Excellent quality food, always delicious! Love their pub quiz interval snacks. A lovely place to spend an evening!

The meal exceeded expectations, the service was excellent and it was reasonably priced for the standard of the venue. We went for a special occasion and it made the day. A few of the group are fussy eaters and they were happy to make adjustments (such as leaving off sauces). Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food.

Over price, long waiting time for food and not worth the wait

Alfreds in pontypridd is becoming a rip of the food is ok but you don't get enough we just had Christmas dinner menu £25.00 per person it was rubbish soup was cold not enough veg to start with one little bowl between two, two little slides of Turkey two potato's no roasts only ice cream available for third course we booked this a couple of months ago and were very sorry we came the last time we had the food there it was the same lines no garlic bread small portions etc but big prices we wont be back again

been going to alfreds for the past three years whilst trying other restaurants in and around Cardiff. have to say by far the best place and best value and quality food. key is the food is so fresh because of the numbers achieved

We have been eating here for years and if I am given a choice of where to eat then I will always opt for Alfreds. We live in Merthyr Tydfil which is 12 miles away and distance is no object the food is top class so are the staff and I would heartily recommend it to anyone. Really fresh meat and fish and a wonderful selection cooked to perfection.

Gruesome don't go there awaited over 1 hour for a meal Staff like Faulty Towers.

Personally, I don't like Alfreds. Have eaten there on several occasions both at lunch time and evening and have been disappointed by the very poor vegetarian selection of foods and their reluctance to deviate from the menu. Also, I can't say I found the staff/service particularly warm, friendly or welcoming. A shame because it is a very popular venue which could be so much better.
