Holidaying from SUSSEX it was a rainy day and we googled a pub near us and a canal. What a find this was. A very warm welcome food to die for and a view of the canal. If your this way don’t miss the opportunity to visit. Thourghally reccomemdef

My wife and I have been many times on the last twelve months and enjoyed both the drinks and the food. The Canal Turn us a credit to Bill and Victoria.

Had my mums 80th at the canal turn today, and honestly couldnt fault the place, the food was good, the staff welcoming, they put banners up and played happy birthday to her, really helped make her day extra special...thankyou so much, would highly recommend

We have been coming to the canal turn since moving to Lancaster. The staff and owners cannot do enough for you! They have looked after us at ever step wether it be with their delicious food, fantastic entertainment or just a quick win on an evening walk. I could not recommended this place enough. GREAT SETTING & GREAT PUB JUST 6 MINUTES OFF THE M6 MOTORWAY & GLUTEN FREE AVAILABLE TOO Having driven across from Newcastle I pulled off the motorway and less than 6 minutes drive from the M6 found this great pub in a superb tranquil setting on the canal. It seems that food is served all day which is brilliant and I had a delicious chicken burger (all chicken breast) on a gluten free bun with home made gluten free onion rings - the kitchen went out of their way to cater for me as a Coeliac (thank you). Plus as I was driving during my 2 days in the area I enjoyed a pint of lime & soda and was not charged excessively for it. I also chatted at the bar with a few locals who were friendly and seemed to welcome a stanger - they also told me that the beer was superb since the new management had taken over - always good to hear and the mark of a good pub if the locals drink there in my opinion. Wallings are a local ice cream company I have not heard of but they certainly produce great Ice Cream & The Canal Turn does a big tasty selection - I enjoyed one or 2 flavours! I actually went back to The Canal Turn the next night as it was "Take Out Tuesday", it seems the kitchen is closed on a Tueday night (they serve food from 9:30am so when else would they get time to do a deep clean) so I could get some indian food sent in from a local Indian Restaurant to eat in a relaxed pub atmosphere, a great idea in my opinion. It was also lovely as the sun shone to sit outside on what looks like new tables/benches and just watch the world go by with a drink - very relaxing by the canal. I could imagine it could also be lovely on a crisp winters day wrapped in a blanket with a drink or hot chocolate taking it all in. A selection of the days newspapers was a lovely touch too. I would like to think I will be back and would recommend a visit if you are in the area

excellent pub in Carnforth near Lancaster.. it is called The Canal Turn.. the beer battered Haddock was the best I have ever tasted . The landlord welcomes pets and our newly adopted bulldog who had not been eating or drinking all day. Tucked into some beer batteries fish with as much delight as we did.. I would go there again and again. We rounded off the meal with iced berries in white chocolate. Which was to die for ...

Booked in here for our works Christmas meal we were not very happy with the overall event i wrote a letter to them stating all our complaints i got a phone call back from a Michelle at 9.30 in the evening in february she agreed that things could of been done better and i then said that i wanted the apology in wrighting so that i could take it to work for the other girls could read it she promised to sort something out for us and here we are in the middle of March and still Nothing from them i saw her again 2 week ago and she then went on to say that the letter was coming from head office well i must say that we were not happy on the night and we are not happy with the lack of response that we have had from them and i don't think the girls will want to return for another works do poor service lack of service totally disorganised food cold i could go on but i think you can get the idea .

Really like this pub. Awesome views over the water and Lakeland fells in the distance. Could sit there all day

Have visited a couple of times lately,had the mussels which were a disgrace ,supermarket mussels all shells and what you could find tiny.The whole meal was a big disappointment .Have been numerous times over the years and feel the meals have steadily gone downhill.

The best take away meal we have ever had. Lovely food, hot and tasty. Give this one a try.

I dined at your restaurant and had breaded veal. I left most of it and told the person in charge that as you could see it was very tough and greasy and very rough grain. So bad I would need a steak knife but gave up as it was inedible and told her so. In disgust I paid and left the restaurant, on reflection I should have not paid for inedible food. In the past I have been to this restaurant many times, but I think it changed hands in the previous years, this was Wednesday 11th June at 5.30pm.

Stayed at Pine Lake resort in Carnforth We visited the Kings Arms pub/restaurant June 2014. Landlord and landlady very chatty and made us feel welcome Good Children's menu but I have to say that this was the best "pie of the day" that I have ever had , this changed daily enjoyed it saw much we booked again for the following night and wasn't disappointed again mash was laced with black pudding being from Lancashire wanted to try it - lovely , made it at home since . My wife had the steak on the first night that was lovely , chips homemade and one of the specials on the second night. Around a tenner for a main , a little more for steak and would highly recommend this to anyone in the area.5 out 5 if you're a pie eater a must try place.

The best Indian Restaurant we've ever experienced. Excellent food and fantastic service!! We won't go anywhere else.

The food was excellent and the restaurant itself was very nicely decorated. The setting of Waters Edge is stunning, just by the side of a lake, we had pre-dinner drinks outside and the views were wonderful, and so quiet.I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone, great staff, incredible food in breathtaking surroundings.
