Eaten in here twice can recommend the ribs, fantastic. Service very attentive and friendly staff. Will be going again without a doubt.

We had lunch here today, a party of ten, and were very satisfied. The refurbed Inn is lovely, the staff attentive and friendly, but not intrusive, and the food quite delicious and of a very high standard. My rissotto of crab was seasoned to perfection and balanced with samphire, no easy task. All our table was more thn happy with their food, and all 3 courses were enjoyed without exception.We could not have asked for more. Young mums out there, NB.We had a 4 month baby with us in his pram, and he was very welcome,

Recently ate at the China Essence while visiting Carnforth, we were the only customers eating, so the meal was a little lacking in ambiance. We were there at opening time, so later in the evening the restaurant could have filled up. However the quality of food and portion sizes made up for the lack of seated customers. The prices of food and drinks were very reasonable. The restaurant provided us with a complimentary desserts. I would recommend this restaurant. There were lots of people calling in for take-aways.

Only had a quick bite at lunch whilst using their wifi. The sarnie was with their homemade bread which was soft with crusty edges and delicious. Also had a homemade biscuit with my coffee. The place has had a big refurb and matches the quality of the grub!

Visited the Redwell midweek and we were very impressed with the food. Good selection and separate "Specials" menu. We had a fantastic lamb dish (cooked in a water bath) and tasty Monkfish dish; and beautifully presented starters of smoked salmon with a cheese sorbet, and tiger prawns with a cucumber spaghetti. Service was very friendly, both the owner and chef came over to chat. The place has been renovated recently by the new owners, and looks very smart. As a pub the real ale selection is good, with well kept Timothy Taylors and Hawkshead beers. Great place !

very poor service, regular's seem to be the most important. 15 minutes waiting to order then had to re-order drinks ( not good ) food just as good as any other chinese poor evening, will not return go over the road to the royal instead.

Best banquet I have had outside of Liverpool chinatown,there was four of us and you could have fed eight easily ,pleasant staff and would recommend it to anyone.We ate on friday 11 09 2009

Restaurant is OK...do not go to the Royal Station in Carnforth it is definitely the poor relation !!

This restaurant is FANTASTIC !! Staff are very attentive and very helpful. The food is GREAT and I would recommend it to anyone who lives within 20 miles, it is worth the trip. It is also very good value for money. Try it you will like it !!

I too have previously eaten at the Kings Arms and had been disappointed with the service. However, having read this decided we'd give it another try..... WOW! The food is good especially the chips cooked in dripping. And the service was pleasant - think we also got the smiling lady. The new owners have made a difference. I would recommend this to anyone. Keep up the good work.

I have dined at this restaurant on a number of occasions now and the food has always been excellent, however you didn’t always get the best service and on a visit a few weeks ago the service was terrible, we vowed never to step foot in the Kings Arms again but seen as the food is always so great we decided to give it one last go and I am really glad I did!!!! We had a warm welcome on arrival and showed to our table by a very nice happy lady…..slightly confused why we were being treated so well she advised us that they had only just taken over so maybe this explains the bad service we had been given before???? If you have been to this restaurant before and didn’t like the service you must try it again, the food is excellent and very good value for money….we will be back!! Thank you for a lovely evening!!!!!!

The food here was fabulous and a friendly service ,best Chinese take away ive had in ages. Ended up going three times on a one week holiday.

This isn't exactly a restaurant, more of a tearoom. It's only open 10-5, and serves snacks and sandwiches as well as light meals. It is the cakes that are the best part of this cafe, I believe they're all made locally and they taste great. The ambience is a little dark, but is quite cottage-like. It is self-service but the staff were friendly and helpful.
