Unhappy Eater

Ate at casa mias in April of this year(2009). All the food was taken out of a fridge in front of you and taken to the back to be reheated. The chicken gave my partner food poisoning and he hardly ate any of it when he realised it looked rotten. The lasagna tasted cheap and like a microwave one. The staff were rude and unhelpful. After asking for water i got dressing put on my salad. We were never once asked if the food was ok. Overall a very bad experience will definitely not be recommending this palce to anyone. I used to eat here a few years back and it was lovely- obviously things have changed alot.

Just keeps getting better and better. Must highly recommend the buffet they have started to do on a Sunday lunchtime, a great way to sample loads of dishes I would normally be scared to order from the main menu. The selections change weekly too and as much as I want for a tenner. Excellent food at ridiculously good value.

With the term 'gastropub' I feel the Mustard Pot over-rates itself. For one thing, there are only about 4 things on the menu; the specials board repeats dishes that are already listed. The dinner menu repeats the lunch menu, swapping sandwiches for starters. The food is overpriced and lacking substance. I had an £8 chicken and ham pie, served in a bowl with no accompaniments - they were extra. Well, ok, that would be fine if the pie was exceptional. While I might have anticipated a billowing cape of freshly-rolled puff pastry enveloping an unctuous helping of creamy chicken and ham, what I got instead was a feeble, gossamer-thin biscuit of pastry floating in a millpond of leek-flavoured milk. It wasn't worth the money, and I'd have got better pie at one of the chain pubs like the Bracken Fox. My fellow diner's burger was made with too much onion and then served with onion relish. It was somehow not quite right: perhaps it was the onion. It was again very expensive at £7.50 (without chips) and served in an unremarkable, supermarket-style doughy bun - not gastropub standard by any means. The chips were good, and were at least freshly made. A glass of Malbec and a pint of lager came to £7.40 The Mustard Pot could end up being what Chapel Allerton needs if they put some effort in, but at this stage it's not serving gastropub quality food, there's not enough choice and it feels like they've spent more time dreaming up lavish pricing for their offering than they have thinking about how to deliver a really decent pub meal.

The Mustard Pot has just been put under new ownership and has turned into a lovely gastro pub. We ate there the other night and the food was really good. It was just what Chapel Allerton needed - a good-looking pub that does good food - an anti-angel's-share (which now only sells pizzas and get very 'towny' with music so loud you can't think).

El Bareto is the place to be with fantastic ambience, tantalising Spanish food, friendly and welcoming staff, why would you want to dine and wine anywhere else! It's addictive...in a good way.

I loooooove Samis. I went there this evening for a meal. I will certainly return. It is not very often I will give full marks to a restaurant, but I make an exception for Samis. I started off with Falafel it is divine, I had Lamb tagine with Apricots. It was perfect. The lamb was cooked to perfection. The taste was amazing. I for one and my Hubby for 2 will become regulars at his place....

I went to Sukhothai for my wife's birthday in February 2008 and I must say it was one of the most enjoyable evenings I have experienced. Décor The restaurant is beautifully decorated with traditional Thai ornaments, pictures and statues. There is a beautiful water feature on the back wall with a small gold fish "pond" at the bottom of it. Everything was spotlessly clean from the bar area to the toilets. Staff From the minute we walked in we were made to feel very welcome and the waiters/waitresses could not do enough for you. Some of our party were running late but unlike some restaurants the staff did not try and rush us through and get us out. We were made to feel very relaxed throughout the evening. No one went for more than a split second with an empty glass and whatever request was thrown at the staff they were more than happy to accommodate. Food What can I say? The food was quite simply amazing! All starters were fully cooked and all came together (I'm not a fan of stop start delivery of meals, they should all be cooked as near to each other as possible and brought out together). Each starter came with its own hand crafted fruit figurine, there were roses, elephants and swans made form a mango or so an "expert" from our party informed us. The main course was sublime, again fully cooked and presented beautifully. The taste, texture and overall quality of the food were top class. A few of us decided there was enough room for a desert and they all went down very nicely with everyone thoroughly enjoying them. Price For a delicious 3 course meal with 2 beers to cost under £20.00 is simply stunning. There is honestly not one word I could say against the restaurant. Overall I would have to say that Sukhothai exceeded all expectations any of us had before hand. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys a quality meal in beautiful surroundings. 10/10 from all of us. Thanks

Not been to the mustard pot in years, met an old friend the other day and wow what a transformation, not only are the bad old days of a troubled venue gone, but the place looks swish and serves great food especially the sunday lunch! glad I went back in

I went to Sukhothai last night after reading on this site that it has been selected as one of the best Thai restaurants in the UK. I am naturally cautious of such bold claims. All I can say is the Times have it spot on. This is by far one of the tastiest Thai meals I have had EVER, including meals in Thailand. The service is extremely good and the restaurant is beautifully decorated with artwork that showcases the beauty of Thailand and its culture. A wonderful restaurant. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED.

One of the success stories of N.Leeds. I go here quite often and always enjoy it. But is the owner putting more tables inside?....or is it just me. Don't go here if you don't want to hear other conversations or even have yours overheard. Some tables are barely ten inches apart

Excellent, - the food and even the decor are all absolutely amazing. Service is welcoming, helpful and polite, but above all genuine (how refreshing) and the food really is outstanding. Highly recommended. Excellent value for money too.

Wow what a place. It is the first time we have managed to visit Sukhothai after hearing a lot of good things we finally visited last night. We were been blown away by the sheer excellence of the food, and the number of dishes(180+) the perfection of service and the restaurant is one of the most beautifully decorated restaurants I have ever visited. The press say Sukhothai is one of the best Thai restaurants in the UK, and the number of smiling and happy faces that were in Sukhothai are certainly testament to that. Really really good. Bookings are recommended as the place was packed, we didn?, but we got lucky and managed to get the last available table. 5 *****

We visited Sukhothai on Friday night last, and can not rememeber the last time I enjoyed such a fabulous evening. Top quality food, served with charm and grace in a beautifully designed restaurant that would not look out of place in any major city centre. Bookings are highly recommended as the place was heaving, but I did not find the noise level a problem at all. Beautiful thai artwork is displayed on every wall and we finished the evening off with a few drinks on the sofa's next to the water fall feature. A top class venue serving possibly the best thai food in the uk.
