Lombardis – ChesterfieldOften visit for the lunch time carvery with friends from Chesterfield. Very good wholesome food, excellent value. John Goodwin Waltham lincolnshire
De Rodes Arms Brewers Fayre – ChesterfieldI recommend that you avoid this establishment at all costs. Particularly if you are vegetarian. Obviously a limited alternative choice is to be expected when the main feature is a carvery but my red pepper parcel arrived cremated to the extent that the blackened lump hidden underneath bone dry reheated puff pastry was unrecognisable as ever having been a vegetable. In fact it resembled the texture and appearance of another local product...coal. I did not have the luxury of additional time to complain and await a dubious replacement as I had an urgent appointment elsewhere. Had I not discovered an infinitely superior meal at the Plug and Feathers the following day I would have feared for the gastronomical future of the residents of Glapwell but this travesty of a young Brewers Fayre really should vanish.
Young Vanish Brewers Fayre – ChesterfieldThe food at this restaurant is very very nice, a group of friends enjoyed a special night out there and went back again for the banquet menu which is superb, service was excellent, the only down side is the fact that it's only a small restaurant, so book early for a weekend meal. I highly recommend it for the quality of it's food.
Oriental Pearl, The – ChesterfieldDelicious food but LONG queues to carvery and the table, cutlery etc were filthy. It will be a cold day in hell before I go there again!
De Rodes Arms Brewers Fayre – Chesterfieldvery good food, very bad service and behaviour
Zahid Indian Cuisine – Chesterfieldi will recommend people not to go there it's not worth it
Zahid Indian Cuisine – Chesterfieldservice is very bad, food is horrible. crazy people
Zahid Indian Cuisine – Chesterfieldyou walk in to the restaurant and rather than being greeted in the friendly way you would expect you get grunted at by a very miserable looking manager, through out the meal we were made to feel like children, for example my partner was pointed at to move the poppadoms out of the way rather than being asked, we ordered another drink ad the waiter leaned across my partner as he was eating instead of walking round to the other side of the table the whole meal itself was not particularly nice. upon complaining, the manager was extremely sarcastic, didn't apologize once and told me i was "talking bullshit", mean while the rest of the staff were stood around laughing. if you want my advice if you are looking for a nice friendly place to eat this is not it, i will never step foot in that place again, i have never been made to feel so offended and worthless in my life. we are currently seeking advice on what action to take on this matter.
West Bars Tandoori – ChesterfieldGreat little Italian restaurant. Good food. Good value as the portions are quite big! Great for an evening out with friends.
Lombardis – Chesterfieldthe best meal i have had in chesterfield
Kaash Tandoori Restaurant – ChesterfieldCalled 28/07/08 this pub is part of pub and carvery, its carvery is a bargain £3.50 6 days a week. Yet it falls down on value wise due to amount of meat given, could not recommend if this is the usual fayre on offer.
De Rodes Arms Brewers Fayre – ChesterfieldJust tried the new menu at the Woodside and was very impressed with the food quality and service. Would definitely recommend
the best Indian restaurant in chesterfield. lovely atmosphere, excellent food, service outstanding and friendly staff. a must go!!
West Bars Tandoori – ChesterfieldYorkie must have visited a different Hardwick Inn from the one where I ate.The pate, though tasty was thrown into a bowl on top of a wet and tasteless salad. The Carvery was disgusting - overcooked and almost cold.Expensive, poor quality food. You had to pay for three courses whether you wanted them or not.Someone's having a laugh here - this restaurant should be a show case for The National Trust who own the building.
Hardwick Inn – ChesterfieldAs Carvery's go this wasn't bad.Reasonable value for money.
Dusty Miller – ChesterfieldInteresting to see that Webbo doesn't mention the food - just as well! One of the worst pub meals I've ever had, can't imagine chef has had any training.Sausage & mash served in a bowl, you couldn't see either as they were completely immersed in gloopy gravy.Sausage looked and tasted as though it had been cooked several times. My partners fish was dark & dry and the batter was lined with an unappetising and cakey yellow hue. I'll look at the view somewhere else thanks.
Gate Inn – ChesterfieldWe attended the Pebley Inn for a party during October 2007 and found the pub to be extremely good. A fine selection of beers and ales and Hearty home cooked food. The atmosphere was well in keeping with a great English Pub and the hospitality, excellent. We couldn't fault anything about the Pebley and found the hospitality of the owners second to none.
